Minimal Open Source Flashlight for Android
The app repeatedly froze my phone, leaving the flash turned on. The only fix was to reboot. Uninstalled.
It does what it needs to do. No ads & works perfectly.
Does not work on my Lenovo
Works on my Verizon LG G Vista
Works on Fairphone 2 FP2
Perfect little utility every phone should have.
Works on moto g4 plus.
Best flashlight ever
Free. Source code is available (it's a pretty easy read, if you're inclined). Small, simple program without bloat and unnecessary permissions. Simple light, nothing more. An immensely popular flashlight app installation was probably the straw that broke the camel's back when I used Android years back. I had handsets hijacked in spectacular fashion, and apparently that was (is?) typical of these stupid flashlight apps. Don't trust me, Google Android flashlight malware or somesuch. Or, just install this!
I tried several useless flashlight apps before finding this open source version. Works great on my Galaxy 4. No ads, reliable, easy to use.
Imagine an instantant download! This is this app. Being so small, you can ensure there is nothing but the flashlight, especially when it's open source. Also, one can use the code of this app to build other ones more complex for different needs, since it's more of a library than an app. It is very simple and doesn't complicate your mind with useless features and complex UIs. Definitely recommend it for anyone who ISN'T a weirdo.
Great app! No extra permissions, ads or any sketchy things. It's perfect.
Only light when u need it
I wish finding apps like this was easier!
Doesn't Work
Works on Droid Ultra
The best app i downloaded non add
Godlike
Simple and works great
It good
If you don't have flash light then the screen will set to max brightness.
I still have to tap twice to turn on the light which is cumbersome .
Unfortunately I no longer need the app because lollipop has built in flashlight. But those of you using kitkat- , this is the torch app to go for. It's free, has no ads and it's open source, so it's guaranteed to not contain any malware
I wish there was a flashlight widget I liked an I love the style, but the whole idea was sort of to get rid of unnecessary stuff, and it does that perfectly.
Does exactly what it's supposed to do without a bunch of extra crap or ads to get in the way.
// , This is elegant.
No fancy shmancy stuff here. Simple and handy.
Open Source, No ads, and perhaps most important it KEEPS WORKING when you lock/close your phone! Some other flashlights keep the backlight on which blinds you and sucks up power. Thank You!
Simple and effective
Nice and simple

An autostart flashlight option would be nice. Like a check box or something. It would also eliminate the need for a widget.
So good
It's easy to access which is an important part of making something as useful as this great little app. No ads, no pesky purchase, no unwanted bells and whistles. Perfection. "There is no greatness where there is not simplicity, goodness, and truth." - Leo Tolstoy
Love that it's open source, love that there are no ads, love that there's no extra crud, but most of all, I especially love that the screen is white with a single toggle switch in the middle (it doubles as a low-output flashlight when the LED isn't needed). No more waking up my wife with my flashlight when I'm trying to get ready in the mornings.

…but unfortunately, it does not work on my Nexus 5.

In under 50 KB this app delivers a straightforward switch-on, switch-off flashlight (torch). Most commendable! Using it on Moto Droid X2 under Android 2.3.5. No ads, no comms access -- accesses only the camera's photo-flash LED(s).
