Honey Player for Android
I see people talking about the sound doing weird things soon after playing starts. I too have experienced this but have noticed it not really happening if I leave the app running when locking my screen. I have a new problem now where some track play but with lots of noise. Other tracks of the same file type (apple lossless) work just fine.
Worked for about a second. Crashed my tablet every time i tried to use it. Waste of time and money.
Working ok now. Doesn't skip tracks anymore and I get less dropouts. Still has a bad and buggy interface though. Doesn't always play what you pick. SGS3

Cant find airport express. In fact I can't even find the screen to select speakers. No help online. Radio is only the list in the app. Pandora is not an option. Does not do what I need.
Total crap. I've had this app on 4 different phones, over the last several years, and it's never worked. I keep thinking they'll fix it, but they never do. Absolute junk.
The thing doesn't work for any music format. Airplay speakers show up but the files don't play. I have now tried it on 2 other android phones and it doesn't connect to the Airport Exress on either of them. Don't risk your money on this app.
After just a minute or two for no reason I can find the app starts playing back a song over itself. It's like an echo in a hurricane. Stop playback ad start again and maybe get a few minutes or into the next some and it does it again. Don't buy this until a new version is released. The only way to have this developer do any work on this is cause them financial heartache.
Bought it for airplay but every time a new song starts its all garbled until I pause and play it again. I wish I could return it but I'm past the window of return. Very unfortunate purchase. The ui is kind of ugly as well
I just wanted to play a specific song from my phone and the app keeps crashing while browsing local files. It also gets stuck quite easily.
This seems to be the only app that plays android music to airplay but the interface just doesn't cut it and browser causes crashes. Doesn't seem any way to point to a specific music folder and default to that. Very unstable. Please please fix it as this could potentially be real cracker of an app
The sound Skips about once every two seconds when playing to airplay speakers. Do not buy until improved. Future versions should have smooth streaming and functionality to stream audio from selected apps to airplay.
Bought this app as it was really the only app that without rooting would stream airplay. Tried streaming to shairport on my raspberry pi connected to speakers - track played for a few secs and the just stopped. It also crashed the shairport service on the pi. I know its not a shairport problem coz i can play music fine from my iPhone. Tried a few config changes on shairport and nothing. Dont waste your money on this.
Then starts cutting out and distorting. Also seems to slow down internet at times. Might be ok for a free app but for almost 5 bucks? No way. Refund requested...
It's not perfect, but it works and it's a good start! Keep them updates coming developers!
Works fine with Shairport 1.0-dev, so you can build Airplay speakers out of your Raspberry Pi, old computer and similar. Happy with purchase. :)
Worked for about a second. Crashed my tablet every time i tried to use it. Waste of time and money.
I have had this app for about a month or so. It was working okay at best, but when I bought new music the albums weren't even on the choices for music to play. The quality is also sub par. Please fix this app.
Very instable.
DO NOT BUY, Honey is a terrible app, the most thrashy app I have ever bought on android. The music quality is garbage and still worse the music gets distorted and garbled after a few minutes of play. I have tried using it for a year now hoping in vain that they would fix the issues. Now I have given up. Android should impose and enforce quality control on their app providers.

Switched over to Double twist
Yess! An app that doesn't require rooting for airport express. So therefore worth 3 quid. Happy days!
I needed an app to send music straight from my phone to airport express. This allowed me to without any hassles. Also has a nice clean interface. I Also bought doubletwist player. It required you to download something on to your computer. Ain't nobody got time for that. I definitely prefer honey.
The stream sometimes got stuck and then multiple sound gets play at the same time, have to pause and replay.
Tried 2 devices, slow response times, often stops working, bad usability, no trial but direct charge
So I paid for an airplay app and it does airplay to my soundbar through my airport express. For about two minutes if I am lucky. Got a galaxy s3. What a brilliant concept. Love the internet radio streaming as well. But if it doesn't work it is broken and I should get my money back until the app works consistently. Wanted to give it more stars but not impressed. Back to streaming from my macbook or ipod.
Thorough disaster. While I could connect to the airplay speakers playing streamed music lasted about 10 seconds. Radio stations appear to have no search capability. At present seems a waste of money.
This app definitely successfully streams to airplay which is first and foremost what i bought it for. It seems to the be the only app for android that does this. The guys who make Airfoil claim its impossible so, kudos for that. It cuts out from time to time and, every once in a while, it'll get a weird time stretch sound or double up the audio playing, but it doesn't cut out any more or less than itunes does on any of my comps. The file/media browser is atrocious though. Quite often i'll select a track from my collection and it will play something entirely different. Also, if you select an artist from the artist list and then decide you want to hear something else from your general song collection, when you hit the song tab it only shows you songs from the artist you had already selected. And the browser function doesnt work. You can can browse to your various music folders and see all the files but when you try and select one to play, nothing happens. In short, if you must stream from your android device to airplay then this is the only way to do it. Is it worth the price though? It pales in comparison to poweramp as a music player and they seem to be at the same price point.
This app is rubbish. I have been using it for 2 hours and so far it has crashed twice and every third or fourth song sounds blurred and muffled! How does one obtain a refund?
There needs to be an app that emulates Airplay so this is welcome. Rogue Amoeba who produce Airfoil for Mac and PC say they can't do this because Google won't provide the full coding. There's a big market for Android users to be able to play from their phones and tablets to Airplay I should think. With further development this could be a very useful app. How about Spotify support? Now that would be something
Its easy to install and connect to airport express, it also detects all the music on the hard drive which is useful. There are however times when the application keeps crashing and refuses to play the song / album.
Device: HTC One. Non-rooted The good: Finds Airplay Express device on network ok and is easy to set up. Sounds come out. Excellent! The bad: 1. Sometime between 5-30 mins the audio starts to break up. It sounds like it is stuttering, with a little bit of stretching. If you pause the track, then play again, the problem goes away. Note that I play 80 min long podcasts, so people who play short 5 min songs may not see this if the player effectively resets between tracks. 2. The player: When connected to Airp
There aren't too many players which actually connect to pretty much all airplay devices (not JUST appletv) and fewer still which allow you to connect to an AppleTV with a password. This app appears stable on my samsung galaxy s3 and has some nice features like pause on phone call. Connecting to other music services (pandora, spotify, etc) would be a nice to have. Connecting to other network music sources would be great to have (DNLA, iTunes server, etc)
Occasional crashes and have to play/pause several times to get audio to the Zeppelin Air on the version 1.4.3. Gave 4 star just for making this app. Version 2.0.1 was the worst (not sure if because the phone is rooted), but Version 2.0.2 connects a lot faster to the Zeppelin with only some minor audio drop outs here and there. Finally got to play FLAC music instead of only mp3s. Interface could be better; must be in the 'now playing' page to know which track is playing next.
I downloaded honey and it worked ok for a week but now it's terrible. The player is soo slow that songs lag and skip making it unusable. I uninstalled and reinstalled but still just woeful. If it continued to work like it did the first week then I would give it 5 stars.
Buggy, flawed and a total waste of money. Emails and phone calls for support have never been answered.
Starts to play via airport express for about 30 seconds, then songs screws up and you have to reset....save your money..
So it's not particularly cheap though it does actually succeed in allowing you to play local music to remote speakers via an airport express/airplay. BUT, as an actual media player it's so so awful. Cover art already embedded into your mp3 files? Well we might be shown sometimes but only as a tiny weeny thumbnail (on tablet). Want intuitive design & controls? Forget that too. Want to see all the tracks you've just added to a playlist? Well you can't! It's a bit like an East German mediaplayer circa 1987 before the wall came down...
