UXUL City Map Explorer

Op de grote kaart op de grond ziet U een plattegrond van de Mayastad Uxul, midden in het regenwoud van Midden-Amerika, in het grensgebied van Mexico en Guatemala. Sinds 2009 zijn archeologen van de universiteit van Bonn actief om de ruïnes van deze stad op te graven. Met behulp van de modernste technologie en door gebruik te maken van allerlei verschillende soorten onderzoek, worden steeds weer nieuwe geheimen van de stad en daarmee ook van de Maya-cultuur ontrafeld.
Op de kaart zijn negen hiërogliefen te vinden. Als u er een heeft ontdekt, klikt U dan op het scherm. U krijgt dan een soort streetview te zien van hoe die plek er meer dan duizend jaar geleden uitzag. Bovendien kunt U ook nog aanvullende informatie vinden over wat er door archeologen op deze plek is gevonden.
