About GNSS Commander - GPS status

Connect your external GPS device by USB or bluetooth. Route the GPS position as mock location provider to any navigation app on your phone or tablet.
Show GPS status data like position, height, accuracy, satellites, velocity, etc.
You can forward RTK correction data to your high accuracy external device. RTCM data is loaded from the internet by the internal NTRIP client.

The app ist completely free with the exception of the NTRIP-RTCM feature. If you want to forward RTK data from your data provider (e.g. land surveying office) to the external GPS antenna, please license the app. You can fully test the NTRIP feature in advance within the 30 days trial period. You can view received RTCM message-types and coordinate-projection-parameters of the RTK data on the RTCM monitor page.

GNSS Commander currently supports devices from vendors:
• Bluetooth - all devices providing SPP profile (LNS profile is planned)
• USB - FTDI chipset
• USB - Silicon Labs chipset
• USB - Prolific chipset (e.g. PL2303)
• USB - u-blox chipset (under progress)

USB connection successfully testet for receivers:
ppm 10xx (FTDI), Navilock, Prolific PL2303, ublox neo-6p, ublox 7, ublox 8, VK 172

High baudrates up to 115200 are supported for all listed USB vendors.
The GNSS Commander can transform WGS84 coordinates into a local coordinate system like "Gauß-Krueger" for germany. Additionally you can set a fixed offset to the transformation for further improvement of the calculated local coordinate. If you allow mock locations in the developer options of your android device you can use the position of the external receiver in any application. The preferred way to process the external GPS position in other apps without using "mock locations" is implementing a simple ContentObserver. You can even get the transformed local coordinate and additional informations about the GPS status by using the app as content-provider.

Software used with Teclast X80Plus tablet and u-blox 8 usb receiver. Very satisfied! There is annoying popup dialog every time if app already stated and you connect USB receiver. It is related to permission to access USB device. It is popped up even "remember permission" checkbox checked. Would author fix it or give some advise to handle it?

The GPS on LG G5 is pretty useless. With this app I can use a Bluetooth GPS receiver and it works really well.

I loved the app. Have been using it for connecting a bluetooth gps receiver to android MM system and it works flawless. An autostart and autoconnect at system bootup option would be really cool and helpful though. And I really wish there was a 4800 baud rate option for a usb gps receiver so that I can also use my old gps usb recevier too. I hope that kind of option will be available later.

Works well with my ublox-7. What's the fee after 30 day trial?

What is the price for the full version after 30 days with RTCM?

I have tried many apps for feeding the NMEA data from my PL2303 interfaced GPS to my navigation app but none has worked as flawlessly as GNSS Commander. Most apps don't support baud rates higher than 9600 baud and that is inadequate if you want to update at anything greater than once per second. All the apps that claimed to support the 38400 baud that I required were unstable or didn't support the PL2303 interface. Additionally, I found the developer to be very helpful in helping me debug a problem that turned out to be caused by the navigation problem. I don't normally provide app reviews but this app deserves it.

Tried tons of other apps. Only this one works with my ublox7 usb gps.

Bullshit

If using an external GPS via WiFi this app will not recognize or connect. External GPS/GGNS such as Stratux will not work with this.

For example, Beidou satt. Are being picked up as QZSS, which is only in China, not Europe. Secondly, the colors on the Skyview page can be hard to differentiate. Perhaps make them user configurable.

It had 38400 baud rate option. Might you add it? Do you plan to upgrade it to Android 6?
