About Who's Calling?

"Who's Calling?" reads the name of the calling party for incoming phone calls or the sender's name of a received message. Main features are:

• Supports phone, SMS, WhatsApp and custom apps (e.g. Facebook Messenger)
• Uses default TTS (Text-To-Speech) engine and language pack.
Please ensure that "voice data" in TTS settings is installed
• Configurable format of spoken caller ID (first name, display name, ...)
• Certain contacts can be disabled or a custom name can be defined
• Speech volume can be configured relative to ring tone volume
• Test mode to simulate incoming calls and messages
• Mute speech by flipping the phone
• Configurable number of times it repeats the caller ID
• Possible to activate alerting only when connected to Bluetooth (R) hands-free
(Please note that, with hands-free mode activated, the caller name will still be read out by the smartphone-speakers)

Hands free (bluetooth) announcement only available in pro version? Really? That's all I needed this for and wish that message was displayed prior to installing it on my phone. Now I'm uninstalling! Waist of time

I LIKE THIS APP. COOL

P70%
by P####:

I marked as 5 star but that was prior to a recent change it once announced Phone callers (by name if a local contact or by number if caller wasnt listed in local contacts), SMS senders AND Email Addresses for senders. Now, it announces maybe 1% of all the incoming messages from the various systems. Very frustrating. I cant see where to troubleshoot this but if it doesn't resolve soon, i will be looking for a new app to do the job. Its good and makes the phone speak the contact. But not if you have headphones plugged in. Which is the main reason i downloaded this app.

The second call I received on my Boy Advance after installing this app was not announced. Not acceptable.

The application works very well for me. But it seems to eat lot of ram in the background around 40-50MB. That's lot of memory the simple job it does.

Have no problem paying for additional features. Single app limitation is suitable to test notifications. I am looking for the announce the Bluetooth feature, which is unavailable in trial version. Perhaps a three-day trial would allow me to make sure that it works with my device. But since I can't, this is a deal breaker

Samsung S5 - when it reads the name the volume is too low. I have it set to Ringtone + 4 and its still too low. When I was testing the configuration I pressed my volume up button and when the voice plays it only goes to a little less than half way on my volume bar. If I press it all the way up it goes back to less than halfway on the volume bar. So the ringtone + 4 has it preset to only go no more than half of the phones volume. Not sure why you would limit the volume on the app and not use all volume.

Great app. Lets me know all notifications on my phone as they come in. I bought the paid app for the extra apps control and support the developer. My only wish is to come up with a Do Not Disturb control for night time.

I always read reviews first. If there are even a few bad ones I don't install. This one I recognized the GmbH name from my old phone so I tried it. So far, so good. I don't like not knowing who is calling without looking, this app eliminates that. Works with text messages, too.

Does not work with LG Tone Infinim HBS-900. (Caller names are not readout over this Bluetooth 3.0 headset.) Also does not callout names on a Bluetooth 4.x headset. Both headsets paired with a Galaxy Note 4, OS 4.4. Fix that!

I am using it since last couple of days on my Lenovo a7000-a, it works very well without wired handsfree. When I connect wired handsfree, majority time it does not speaks and sometimes it speaks only first two characters. Developers, please look into it.

U70%
by U####:

Doesn't work. I had the settings to speak the display name but it only said the incoming phone number.

U70%
by U####:

Does not work reliably. I seem to be able to get it to read the entire SMS message, which I do not want, or do nothing except record statistics telling me how many times it has done something. What I want is to simply hear the name of the sender. The configuration settings would lead one to believe that this is possible, but it does not work. Not recommended.

U70%
by U####:

It will work on 3 text messages and after that it will stop working esp during call.. it will never talkback please fix because it works perfectly on my note edge!

Doesn't work most of the time.
