Within the payleven app, you can accept Chip & PIN and Contactless payments, including Apple Pay. Simply download the app, register your business online and order your card reader to start accepting payments.

Accept the most common credit and debit card for a fee from 2.75 % down to 1.50% per transaction (depending on your monthly card payment volume). There is no minimum revenue requirement, no contractual lock-in, just easy payments at the highest EMV & PCI security standards.

How does it work?

Its simple: download the app, register your business online and order your card reader. It will be sent by post immediately, so that you can quickly start accepting payments.

The payleven app supports most Android devices operating on Google Android 4.0.3 and higher. We continue to work towards supporting additional Android devices.

The following devices might have problems with pairing the Chip & PIN terminal when running on Android 4.0.3:
• Galaxy Pocket (S5300)
• Galaxy Y (S5360)
• Galaxy Ace models like Ace Advance (S6800) or Ace GT (S5830i)
If pairing within the payleven app does not work, please try pairing in the Android device bluetooth settings. If this does not work, please update your version of Android.

Worked pretty well on my S5 until I updated the phone to Android 6.0. Now it complains about a fake location developer setting being on (but is actually off) and won't open. No other app has this problem. **update** - it now works again since the last app update

Says on the manual log in go to account,select payment options which isn't there to pair it..customer service useless as is the online chat!thanks for this as I can't return it and now stuck with something that won't work!

I strongly recommend it! Really super service and the online support team is helpful and ready to answer any questions you have. At the beginning I had problems connecting to the card reader (with an ipod). Once I started using my mobile phone I never had that problem again. Do not hesitate to start using Payleven!

Does everything it says it does but if you want to get a receipt printer you have to buy the payleven one or go through a long winded process of downloading a app that you then have to type in all receipt info every use. The app also does not have a gallery so you have to find the pic of the item you are selling in your gallery also long winded. This is perfect for taking payment only.

I can't even count the sales I've missed out on because of Payleven. The first device was faulty and the new one isn't any good, either. It's like a relict from the last century. AWFUL.

Worked ok on my old I phone I now have a Samsung s6 and it says fake location! I can't even get onto anything on the app as this flashes up straight away. By the looks of it other people are having problems. It's also just very slow. I often have to close the app and re open to make it work. Which is embarrassing when a customer is waiting to pay and it takes forever! Will be looking for another card reader.

Have used Payleven for a few years but it will no longer work on my phone. It keeps telling me that I have developer options enabled and that it's possible to fake my location even though that they aren't enabled. Have had to uninstall the app and now have to find another card processor which is really annoying

Won't open on new phone. Due to fake location services (turned off) Told it's a samsung problem by customer services but can't get answer from Samsung either will just use another company if problem persists.

Registration process timed out while I was searching for bank account details, so had to enter all the details again. When finally got everything entered out it then said the serial number on the device was invalid. Absolute waste of time, am returning the reader to the vendor

Working seamlessly. Looks a lot more professional a terminal than many of its competitors. Customer service is also far superior. It would be great to be able to take phone payments at some point, but for now it does everything it promises and does it well.

Had two readers both didn't work . I connected payleven they where very unhelpful and rude there are better readers on the market with much more helpful and polite staff.

Compared to card terminals which suffer from constant signal issues (CARDSAVE/WORLDPAY) and poor customer support (CARDSAVE/WORLDPAY). This combo of card reader and app on 4G smart phone means my business can actually take card payments. My only real problem is the inability to take card payments over the phone when customers not present or take a deposit in advance. This limits the company scope of business to face to face. But with no contract or monthly fees to pay, plus affordable transaction costs.

Simple solution to receive payments. Only problem I have is I deliver to poor signal areas where it doesn't work. Also money doesn't appear in my account for over a week and being a small business I cannot afford to give credit.

Where do I start!!!!!!! , well here goes, 1. done a test purchase on 22nd July for a £1 didn't come through till 3rd August, 2. Took over a week to get up and running properly. 3. The dippy girl on the end of the payleven customer service team NO TELEPHONE SKILLS, and I quote, her words " I reckon it might be in tomorrow or the next day maybe " pretty poor start hopefully things will get better, should of stuck with taking cheques!!!!

Running a small business, I find this solution really ideal. A few bugs but nothing too major. it’s cheap, fast and reliable and whenever I have any problems i just go on their live chat and usually all problems are solved!

I have had this for about a month now and love it. The only criticism I have is with the lack of instructions. I had to phone up as bluetooth wasn't connecting and I couldn't work out why. Turned out to be as simple as I was waiting on pay leven to email me to say it was set up at their side. All I needed on the instructions was a "please note this cannot be connected to bluetooth until a confirmation email has been sent out"

Works well, but updates start for no reason in middle of transactions, turns itself on for no reason when off, daily totals now been taken off, so you have to go through all transaction to manually add up

Swap to Apple. Tried it on numerous Android Devices no good. always a Bluetooth problem. Friend of mine said they used them in Netto on an Ipad with no problems. Bought an ipad retina absolutely brilliant. No pairing problems. Fast compared to Android. First test transaction in morning 12 seconds after pressing charge then most transactions 4 to five seconds. Android half an hour if your lucky. Customers now very impressed. Works just as well on an iPhone. Leave on all day no problem.

App requires location, as part of "security". When you have poor or no GPS signal (in buildings, tents, between buildings) the app will often fail to start. While this can be circumvented on a rooted device with a fake location provider, it makes the device worthless if you have slow or no GPS. We've seen quite a lot of loss of sales because people could not pay due to this issue. This is completely unacceptable. I've contacted support and they made it very clear that Payleven has no intention on fixing this. As such, I'd advice against using this device in places where GPS and/or Wifi is poor (buildings etc.). And certainly not on devices that have a slow GPS. Making your customer wait 5 minutes because your device tries to get a location is certainly not an option.

Used to be unreliable but update to app and device has vastly improved it, now pairs quickly and works even with poor reception. Making it possible to skip login on trusted devices would make it even better.

Device repeatedly failed to work, as did its replacement. Double-charged customers on several occasions but only notified us of this once. Failed to take our complaints seriously, brushing everything aside as 'problems with the app' as if this were not part and parcel of the entire package
