About VR 3D Image Viewer

With this app you can view 3D-Images in the Side-by-Side Format (One image splitted for the right and left eye) like they are on a big screen. This app uses the headtracking to prevent "Motion Sickness" which can occurr if you move your head and the image didnt move in this direction.

You have to create a folder named "VRImageViewer" on your sd-card in which you put the images. If you have a device without a sd-card slot like the "Nexus 4" you have to create the folder into the normal storage.

You need images in this format: http://www.google.de/search?q=stereoscopic+parallel&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X

With a controller like the iDroid you can control the images with the left analog stick.

Controls:
Left stick up and down = zoom in and out
Left stick left and right = previous and next image

Tested on a Google Nexus 4 with iDroid Controller and the OpenDive.

Supports all Android compatible HMDs with Gyroscope like:

This app is very primitive. To get it to re-read the /sdcard/VRImageViewer directory you have to swipe the app out of the recent apps list. It doesn't pre-warp the images for the cardboard lenses, so it's difficult to see stereo properly in the cardboard.

C70%
by C####:

Shows a white box and the text image.

C70%
by C####:

Does not function without a specific controller. Avoid.

You need to make this thing more intuitive and user-friendly. Show some kind of in-app messages telling the user where to put the pictures and how to navigate them. Because the first thing people do is download an app, open it up, and nothing works, so they uninstall it and leave a bad rating. I keep coming back to say nothing works and I happen to see why in your description. Letting us pick any folder would be far better, along with touch input, for Google Cardboard button support without a gamepad.

Please add support for seeing images without a controller please! I can only see one image :( A simple tap to change image would suffice.

It works for about 1 or 2 minutes, then crashes. Drift is also an issue, and there's no easy way to fix it. If those problems are fixed, it will be a much better app. Unfortunately, it seems like it's the best option for now.

Controls are terrible (nonexistent), I can't even exit w back button. There's an upper limit on pic size that should be documented at least. Unusable in this form.

I'm sick of vr apps made by people who don't own vr hardware.

Completely useless, couldn't get it to show ANY pictures no matter how many i tried to add to the prescribed folder. No app should be that much work for nothing. GS5 Lollipop

Does nothing but give a floating "Loco VR" sign on my Galaxy Nexus with CM10.

This app could have been good, even if the only change was the ability to advance the image with google cardboards magnet sensor. Why do I need an iDroid just to navigate images?! If this was fixed, my review would change

by S####:

Nice start BUT 1 - requiring images in its own dedicated directory is a show stopper. 2 - should work like Gallery, let you navigate to directories and step through images. 3 - should support Cardboard sliding magnet: say, quick swipe for Next, longer for Back and very long for Up.

Really limited, needs a sideshow mode at least.

Don't know what do

Some kind of swipe/tap/magnetic ring/volume button support to flip the pics would have been great as I ddont have a joystick or a desire to go get one and set it up just so i can cycle though a set of pics. Otherwise, It was a GREAT experience and looked much better than a static image.

I love it …it very good

It needs work. Another way to scroll through files is necessary to make this useable by me. Also a simpler way to browse files would of course be friendlier ui. Ability to view regular images like VR Cinema and SBSVideoPlayer do with video would be gravy.

V70%
by V####:

Great, just needs a way to view multiple images. Maybe the magnetic switch or 90 degree rotate or a slideshow

D70%
by D####:

VR 3D Image Viewer lets me comfortably view my stereo photography with Google Cardboard and similar hand-held viewers, but it needs a friendlier interface (including a native way to browse photos).

D70%
by D####:

Took a while to figure out that the image can't be too large - that should be specified in the instructions. . And there need to be simple alternatives to the joystick to advance to the next picture (e.g. screen tap or swipe, volume buttons, magnetic slide a la Google Cardboard); since I don't have a joystick, I'm stuck with only one image.

Works perfectly (Huawei P6) just what I was after.

This app is an excellent way to view stereoscopic images in a compatible headset. When I was a kid my mom had all these pictures of her childhood taken in 3d and we used a little viewer to look at them - this is like that on steroids! It does crash occasionally when switching to a new image, and I would love to be able to view multiple images in a space by turning my head. I would also love to be able to swap left and right sides with a button, as that may help it work with crossview images. But great app!

It seems to work. Although the construction with needing a folder is far from ideal. For instance, on an LG-802 you can't get it to work. Also the app has Unity debug running on full which logs like crazy so it would be nice to get rid of that. A next step would definitely to register and intent receiver for images, relatively easy to implement resulting in a much better user experience. Just my 2 cents worth

X70%

This splits the picture in half. It is supposed to show double images side by side. 2 stars at best.

Good start. Images drift to the left on G4
