Its free, loads birthdays from contacts automatically and you can add additional reminders for the dates. Plus sounds and vibrations. It has everything needed in a birthday reminder app. Trust me. Just download and enjoy. I added 2 days advance reminder as an extra aside from the midnight reminder.

This was extremely good. Love how you can set infinite # of reminders before event, a rare feature. But I recently found out how calendar automatically syncs to Gmail which I don't like at all (just got unlimited internet so now use Gmail occasionally). Found app to create offline calendar that bypasses Gmail completely but now, this best bday reminder, unlike the 2 widget ones I hv, doesn't detect anything from it at all, so _all_ birthdays/anniversaries undetected. So can't wholeheartedly recommend it.

It will be useful, if the app will have additional widget and not only DashClock extension. Also more deep integration with Android wear, like ability to scroll thru your birthday list on smartwatch will be welcome addition.
