This is a preparation manual for the »Linux Essentials« certification offered by the Linux Professional Institute (LPI). Linux Essentials is aimed especially at schools and universities in order to introduce children and young adults to Linux. The Linux Essentials certificate is slated to define the basic knowledge necessary to use a Linux computer productively, and through a corresponding education programme aid young people and adults new to the open source community in understanding Linux and open-source software in the context of the ITC industry. Great for a beginner and those who want to know about history, up to date compared with other books I saw coming from 2000 o 2004. And this particulary sentence made me laugh. 1” This metaphor is for Europeans and other people who can manage a stick shift; our American readers of course all use those wimpy automatic transmissions.
