LFI - Leica Fotografie Int. for Android
Poor use of infinite scrolling especially on master shots section- even scrolling away from content causes everything to reload. News feature is curated well.
Great photography and interesting articles but frustratingly slow even on a fast phone with fast wifi. I would rather just go to the website.
Quality from Leica, as always

I think it would be nice with a third tab [Equipment] so users could browse images sorted by the equipment that was used. Yes, i know users can choose Mastershots => M, but i mean more specific sorted by exact lenses and/or cameras. Besides that, it would be nice if users could set a specific Mastershot catalog to open default or if the app remembered this, since i only look in one subcategory and the app seems to open random galleries each time it's started.
Poor use of infinite scrolling, even scrolling away from content causes everything to reload. News feature is well-curated, but LFI also has a great blog, oddly separate from news, and that is not incorporated into the app, making this app feel half-hearted. Needs updating

Could never afford a Leica, but love the gallery. It has no Chromecast function of its own as far as I can tell, but it pairs perfectly when you simply use Android Lollipop's built-in Cast screen and turn the phone to landscape.
I cannot read anything from this app
Great content but the app is slow, storage heavy compsred to most other photography , magazine apps. Im sure they are aware of it and working on making it better performing app

New version is slick. News feature is well-curated and selection of gallery images is decent. Only request is create a settings preference to download images in background sync.
There are some great shots in the gallery section but what really makes me scratch my head is the massive amount of post processing more or less every picture in the gallery been through. I know everyone does it myself included, but it's hard to wrap my head around what makes these pictures stand out when they could have been taken with just about any camera out there. Shouldn't Leica's quality in itself deserve a lot less processing then horrible tone mapped HDR shots? But I do like the news :-)
This is an amazing app. Im not big on online sharing of my images as its more for my own personal joy to work in the industry. But I would be happy to share all of my best work from my future Leica M I hope to get in the comming weeks.
As a former iPad user, I was spoiled by the ability to digitally purchase and access full electronic issues of LFI magazine. Coming over to Android and only having gallery access is frustrating, considering I have a fair investment in back issues that I would love to have access to on my new device. Hopefully this is the beginning of movement in that direction. For people who have never had the iOS version of the app, this is a great way to become acquanited with the incredible and inspiring works being produced with Leica cameras worldwide, and the photos here just shine on tablet screens. For a free application, it's great. I'll just keep crossing my fingers that the missing features from the iOS app make the jump over to this platform sooner rather than later. I've waited over a year to find an M (typ 240) body at retail, so I can wait a little longer for Leica to bring their app up to snuff. :)
While nothing replaces seeing these photographs in print, the convenience of having so much inspiration just sitting in your phone is priceless. The app is simple, with just a news section and a gallery. But it's enough. The "news" (blog) is updated quite regularly, and the galleries seem to be as well.
