Remote for SoundBridge extends your Android smartphone to remote control the
Roku SoundBridge and Pinnacle SoundBridge HomeMusic.
It works even with basic SoundBridge players without graphical display.
Instead of imitating the original infrared remote control the app has a more sophisticated approach: It utilizes the whole screen and the keyboard of the phone to let the user easily browse and search his music collection and the Radio Roku internet radio directory.

* Connect to different music servers including UPnP, DAAP, and Internet radio.
* Browse playlists, artists, composers, albums, songs, genres, and folders at music server.
* Browse favorites, genres, locations, and top stations from Radio Roku.

* Copy current song title and URL to clipboard.

* Manage the song queue: Display, set, insert, append and remove songs. Set Repeat and Shuffle mode.
* Sleep timer.
* Scrobble with last.fm (Works with UPnP and DAAP servers but not with Internet radio. Requires a last.fm account).
* Search the Web for the now playing song (long press on song info!).
* Easy switching between multiple players.
* Pause during phone calls.
Explanation of permissions:
* Network communication: The app uses the network to communicate with the SoundBridge. If you enable to display cover art or scrobble with last.fm then the app may contact various internet sites.
* System Tools - prevent phone from sleeping: If you enable the settings Keep Wi-Fi on or Scrobble then this permission is required to prevent the phone from shutting down Wi-Fi during sleep.
* Phone calls - read phone state and identity: If you enable the setting Pause during phone call then the app needs this permission to listen for changes in the phone state, like incoming calls or off-hook. The app never uses the identity of the caller, but there is no separate permission in the Android system to distinguish between phone state and caller identity.

This is a great app for controlling the Roku Soundbridge, I use it every day to queue up music, control volume, switch radio stations etc. I have my Soundbridge set up to play to my Patio speakers outside, I can't use the regular remote when I'm out there so this app is a great alternative.

This app saved my bacon. I was very frustrated because I love the soundbridge but my remote was flaky. I installed this app on my phone and it connected without any issue. I was able to access my music library which has been locked up for the last 3 months because of a bad remote. Thanks for the app.

One humble suggestion. Make use of notifications for each song change, and update scene even if running in background. OK 2 suggestions. Can it look up album art from online collections rather than stream title.

the app always reloads all the albums, artists etc from the server - there is no caching. This is very painful when trying to build a song queue if you have a large library. This one thing is a shame because otherwise the app is great.

I love the ability to search using a keyboard, no more faffing about with the original SoundBridge remote. In fact, I haven't touched the original remote since discovering this app. The UI, while still sparse, has improved a lot recently so an extra ★ is now in order.

This is actually the first app I have come across that I truly love!! I was about to get rid of my SoundBrideg due to the inconvineniance of the limited display on the device. But now? No way, this app made me re-install my SoundBridge and for the first time in 3-4 years realy use it! The fact that I can have the app on different Android devices and just swap between them without the SoundBridge going bananas is great! Donation coming, this app is worth to pay for!!

Best (free) app ever - has given my R1000 a new lease of life! Using my Samsung Galaxy tablet and phone (either or both simultaneously), I can now browse and switch effortlessly between streams from my NAS, PCs and internet radio - something which is just impossible with the original remote control.
