About Bonafide+
BonaFide+ is an application that helps you to evaluate the performance of your mobile network provider based on the type of activity being performed (web-browsing, voice calls over the internet, online gaming, video/music streaming, etc.). Some mobile network providers might promise you a certain level of performance but artificially restrict the performance of certain types of traffic. For example, the bandwidth for VoIP applications might be limited in order to make using VoIP in mobile networks impossible, or rather encourage the use of cellular networks for voice communication.
By using geographically distributed measurement end points Bonafide+ evaluates the performance of your mobile network provider. The performance of yours, and other providers, can be seen on a global map. This allows you to not only discover areas where service is better (or worse) for your provider, but also compare the service provided by your provider against others.
BonaFide+ is an open source application that was developed by the European Union's Framework Programme 7 funded FLAMINGO project, with active contributions from Jacobs University Bremen, University of Zürich, University of German Federal Armed Forces-Munich and the Vienna University of Technology. The main goal of this application is to collect, analyze and present protocol based performance data from different mobile operators around the world.
