Like the style of the Google search widget on ICS?
Then you should try "Simple Search Widget"! It looks like the standard Android 4.0 search widget, but you can change the search provider to any site you want: Wikipedia, Google, Bing, Amazon or anything* else!

Could you make it look a bit more like the persistent search bar we see at the top of the screen and hence make it a bit more prominent because otherwise it has a tendency to elude the eye.....

This app allows you to use a variety of search engines or websites. You can even customize how you'd like your search bar to look like, in my case, I set it as invisible! No more ugly Google search on my home screen!

Love the simplicity, and the app looks great. But when I'm typing in what I'm searching for, it doesn't show. I have to just assume I'm typing things in correctly. Would really love to use this app, but really can't get by without search text appearing. Pity.

1. Number can only be typed after alphabet 2. Holding Backspace will stop if encountering space and special character 3. No text pointer 4. I will wait for your update and if it's fixed 5 stars for you

This is a great alternative to the built-in Google search bar-it doesn't pull up the painfully show 'Google Now' page

I really like that this widget restores the simple search capability that was needlessly complicated with the introduction of Google Search/Now. It lacks a cursor when used with used with the Skype keyboard and has some other glitchy behavior that prevents a 5-star rating.

Simple, great functionality, but it won't let me enter a number as the first character in a search. Using jelly bean on a Kyocera hydro elite. Five stars if this bug can be fixed.

Basic and to the point. Does what it says and I like the fact you can change the search URL parameters, so that way it will never actually go obsolete.
