What are users saying about Simple RSS Widget

Great widget that allows complete customization. A few issues though: images don't load and I can't get more than 3 lines of text...Alas there'll never be any fix for that since it hasn't been updated in years. Still it works and looks great, and above all it's free and without any ad :-)

S70%
by S####:

I wish this was not just a widget but an application. This pulls news real time from google news while feedly takes up to three hours to get the news on time. The developers have a gold mine here and give a killer application that could put feedly and other RSS applications to shame.

X70%
by X####:

The app is simple and good for beautifying themes with neat lookong news feed. The only concern is that it uses huge mobile data. Maybe i need to disable images but still for showong micro thumbnail images it has consumed over 180mb of data this month

X70%
by X####:

No updates to any feed, some major, since set up. Uninstalling. I've worked with RSS a million times in the past, and if I'm making a mistake in the setup then you need a more user friendly app that is more ergonomic.

X70%
by X####:

I have been using this great app for many years with various devices and launchers. Simplicity and minimalism without eye-tiring flamboyant colors and without surface-aqcuiring meaningless voids of other apps. With the ability to customise the environment in a huge degree in comparison with most other news aggregators, especially in darkening every thing so that your eyes don't get so tired. Also no extra news recommendations depending on spying my history. I just love it!! Keep up the good work! If I can pay or donate in any way please inform me. Thank you for keeping it clean!

T70%
by T####:

Many a times it simply displays "no data available" on 3G, when on adding the another same widget with same feeds, the data is available. Also many a time, the headline is wrong in correspondence to the news it refers. Apart this, there is no option to access the hyperlinks, or copy the link. Fix these issues, n I will give a 5 rating. ALSO, INCLUDE 'TTS' FEATURE! And yes, it used a HELL lot of background data... More than a GB in less than a month!! I mean seriously... WTF!!???

T70%
by T####:

Added the widget to my home screen, changed the settings and then disappears and goes back to widget select screen.

X70%
by X####:

This app is the perfect solution for those looking for a scrollable news widget. You can set ANY RSS feed you want into this reader and customize colors of news titles, dates, etc. One of the few scrollable widgets that allow you to scroll through news highlights directly on your homescreen without entering the app. (Tap the article in the widget to read the full article.) The only thing I wish is for this app to be kept up to date with bug fixes, etc. Otherwise, great app.

And highly customizable. News reader leaves a lot to be desired. If there was a way to connect the widget to another RSS app like Feedly or greater, this would be a five star app.

K70%
by K####:

This is a really attractive widget that will match any theme, but adding/removing feeds or actually reading is a pain in the butt. I would really prefer it if it would open in Feedly and actually show articles in the order they come out, not by who published them.

T70%
by T####:

Loved this app until it stopped working. Now when I try to place it on my desktop nothing happens. Tried reinstalling, wiping data, and different launchers. Don't have a clue except wish it worked again. Gladly give 5 stars

U70%
by U####:

Why does it work some times and doesn't work the rest of the time. I'm forever trying to reset the widget after it just disappears.

T70%
by T####:

Better than freely in my opinion.. Request tho: I'd like multiple RSS widgets on my screen, however only one seems tone able to show up.. :/

T70%
by T####:

But I am having issues getting the viewer to work. Also linking directly to the news site doesn't work either. Galaxy note 2 Update: Fixed! Great job!

T70%
by T####:

I have my settings to 3 stories per feed and not only does it show a random amount per feed, but the entire feed itself is no more than 12 stories regardless of the number of accounts entered.

T70%
by T####:

Does as advertised. Great resizable widget. Never missing a news update anymore ! 5 out of 5 I'm sticking with this one!

T70%
by T####:

This widget is great and simple but I have a complaint When the widget can't load data for any reason, instead of saying "no data available" the widget should leave what's already there

T70%
by T####:

This is the best RSS widget in Play store. I'm using it from a long time and there's no problem with it. And I wish you add support to use custom fonts which will make my home screen look more cooler.. ;)

T70%
by T####:

It has good customisation options but has many bugs such as the feeds not refreshing and the inability to add saved widgets. 5 stars when fixed.

T70%
by T####:

Nice widget, only one minor thing that needs changed if possible. When I go to share an article and the options pop up for what app to share with, is it possible to remove the 'always' & 'just once' option. I share to multiple apps sometimes and would prefer not to click 'just once' everytime. Thanks

Nothing shows on my screen, select the saved setup and nothing shows. Uninstalling Update: works well, now I can intergrate news feed to zooper widget. I must have done something wrong B4

T70%

This app was working for me for at least a month or more until today when I got the 'no data available' i tried restarting, un/re-installong, clearing data etc but nothing seems to be working. Shame...

Z70%
by Z####:

Is there any chance that the 3-line limit could be removed or customizable?

K70%
by K####:

Every time I saved my widget and went back to my home screen, it still said that I needed to make one, even though I just made one. This app sucks and doesn't work.

Q70%
by Q####:

Used to work well enough to be useful. Now however, more and more often the news pages that gets opened upon clicking an item is a completely different one than what the item was about. Useless.

This is one of the widget that i actually put in to my home screen. Very light on system resource. I've two separate widgets and all my home screen is fast. The updates are silent and you can configure as many as rss you want.

I remember when I first used this widget and it used to be really great. But not when I refresh the widget it doesn't update to the latest news and when I click the news it sends me to a totally different news.

I have an lgg3. I try to add a widget to my home screen, then it brings up a configuration screen. I can edit settings, add my feeds, and save the configuration but the widget never shows up on my home screen.

K70%
by K####:

It can waste alot of data on my lg l90 252 MB!? Why?

K70%
by K####:

I would like to be able to filter elements by date , so that only elements which are newer than X days are visible. I'd give you 5 stars if you implement this :)

U70%

the built-in browser just shows a blank screen for one of the sites I'm subscribed to.

K70%

Great app. Slick design. This transformed my homescreen. If I where to suggest some funtiontionality it would be: Double tap for settings (instead of ugly buttons), Shadow support (makes it easier to read), Text outline and Highlight new and old items. Other than that its far supperior to any other rss readers out there. True story.

Q70%

I save configuration, load it, it takes me to my homescreen and it never shows up. I'm not the only one with this issue. Get on it.

Q70%

Anyway you can update the Feedly import so we can choose specific folders to import instead of all the feeds we have in Feedly?

W70%

Used to work excellent before and updates according to settings. Now it updates like crazy, having over 200 mb used in couple of weeks. Pls fix it and I'll use it again and rate 5 stars.

Q70%

This is just the widget I wanted. It's a little hard to set up, but well worth the effort. Thank you!

Q70%
by Q####:

Was great until it crashed and lost all my feeds. Figured maybe it was me so I reconfigured it only for it to do the same thing right after I spent 10 minutes getting it the way I wanted it. Uninstalling.

Q70%
by Q####:

Great widget however I still can't get a full article displayed. What ever I try I only get 3 lines. Any fix?
