Objectify for Android
Objectify uses the front-facing camera and the smartphone display to create light reflections to calculate a 3D model from the picture.
You can achieve best results in a very dark environment.
No luck but good effort
Neat concept, wish could take photos 360 around an object. For now will only do your face and for me, it turns me into an ape.
Scans from front camera based on screen reflections - amazing - saves 3D obj you can load in 3D viewer, and saves screen shots...smooth triangles, points, or wireframe...not perfect, but innovative...tried on Galaxy S2 and Galaxy S4...
Tried it on my Galaxy Nexus running ICS. Got as far as illuminating the right side of the screen for about 30 seconds, then crashed the phone such that it hung up on the boot animation. Had to take out the battery to get it to boot in time for a refund.
Won't even take a picture with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus running Jelly Bean, just freezes up and causes the phone to reboot. I was lucky to get it going again in time for a refund.
Totally amazed, got a great scan of my ear! :-)
Sadly doesn't work on galaxy nexus running ICS. Camera never seems to be triggered.
- front camera only because of how it is scanning...
Using a Google Nexus S. I downloaded this late one evening and immediately sat up in bed and took a 3d scan of my face. From what little I knew of 3d scanning I would never have thought this was possible, let alone capable of being so simple. N.B. As the usage instructions explain it doesn't like an background light, and it produces intereting but not very useful results if you're wearing glasses. The scans are quite rough, but clearly recognisable and the on-camera viewer lets you easily rotate your view around your scan. The most startling piece of software I've yet seen running on an Andoid phon I'm not sure how to clean up the Obj exports but have hopes of using them into 3d modelling software. Two requests to the Author: could you add direct Obj export to DropBox, and could you provide any guidance on using the Obj files - Meshlab can read them but they don't look anything like as smooth as the on-phone rendering.
But on my HTC Glacier (T-Mobile Touch) the wireframes are VERY flat. I will continue to play with it and look forward to updates in the future!
Not working back camera ...
Not even worth trying.

Sucks Not even worth trying.

Works on GS 2 Gingerbread 2.3.6; - front camera only because of how it is scanning...

I think there is potential. Try reducing the white color spot to be much smaller, so there is a single point of light and a more distinct shadow edge to capture. Also, add a function to remove surroundings. As it is now it does not work well.
