FireAlert 2 for Android
App works about 1/8 of the time... worked well when I first got it, now having on going issues with it even going off... people on my department having similar issues as well Update: app works as expected after receiving an email from the team explaining how to add it to the battery save exception list. Thanks for the quick reply!
I had this app, or its precursor, or a similar app last year, and was satisfied with it. But after having to reset my phone, I installed this app, and it's just not been reliable for me. Perhaps I don't have it set up properly (it's not particularly intuitive), but it works *sometimes*. But unless it works 100% of the time, it doesn't work for me.
Very good! Recently Hangouts said it won't be handling SMS anymore so I switched to FB Messenger. Now FA2 doesn't seem to trigger on texts handled by FB... I am not sure how to fix it. It worked great with Hangouts. Still, this is a fantastic app, maybe we can get the issue fixed.
I just got it and tested it, and it looks like it works as advertised on my Verizon Galaxy S7 with the newest version of Android (7.0 Nougat). A lot of other apps of this sort had reviews about things not working, or only working in the paid version (like sms) . This app does exactly what I need for free : alert me with custom noises and vibrations when specific contacts text or call me, even if my phone is set to vibrate. Thanks for a great app! Now I can leave my phone quiet at night and still get woken up if my servers go down. :)
FireAlert2 promises much but sadly falls short. It has a lot of potential but seems to be let down by limited development and support. SMS triggers don't always work (I can't afford to miss one because it doesn't fire off), and it's impossible to use email triggers unless you use the very ageing K-9 client, which in itself is a badly developed product (No support for modern Exchange servers, No support for Office 365). Sadly I find myself looking for a more complete alternative.
Unfortunately it fails to trigger on my Galaxy S7. I am pretty sure it is set up correctly. Added the phone number and the trigger words "Attendance Request" but fails to trigger. ????
This app has been so helpful and no other app has worked as well as this one, I would rate this a perfect 5 but I only have one problem, it does not stop the sound when I press the side on/off button on my phone like it does with phone calls, many a time I've been out in public and I've had to frantically press buttons in order to stop it. If you could fix this, it would be a 5.
I use the app for first responding and it almost perfect, the only issue I have is that if I receive a message then a phone call straight away it sometimes continues to vibrate while taking the call. One feature I would really love would be done quick reply buttons on the pop-up window do I could reply to CAD to acknowledge the message without closing the window.
This app is pretty much exactly what I was looking for. I'm not a firefighter but I am on call a lot for IT work, this lets me set up a lot of different rules pretty easily. You've literally made my job easier. Thanks!
I've been looking for a replacement for an abandoned pager app that started having issues, and this fits the bill perfectly. Thank you for the wonderful service you've provided to numerous communities.
The app needs to be open to register any sms coming in. For the most part it is not on my phone. It will be just another thing to remember like having the sound on the phone on. This was what I was trying to get around in the first place so the app becomes kinda useless. I also could not get any of the sounds on my phone to work with the app. Tried mp3 files etc. Would not work.
Very good event filters, can set multiple trigger words with and/or conditions, for both words to include and exclude. Works perfect with my Vista Panel and Envisalink board. Includes logging functionality that allows you to see the actual senders number/email, which helped me troubleshoot how to configure the triggers for the Envisalink.
Awesome app, works perfectly all the time. It's great that the app is free & the customer service is the GREATEST with super fast & detailed tech support. THANK YOU.
Can you allow the app to do voice over 2 times etc? I relay on voice over depending on the call outs i get but would like it to repeat more times
I made a mount above my bed on the wall my phone sits on. The flashlight feature works great to wake me up for the 3am fires!
However, when I upgraded from a Galaxy S3 to a Galaxy S7 running Android 6.0.1, the Block SMS option is now grayed-out. Sure wish this could be fixed.
Is not possable to have import/export function so rescue station can like email default settings for there station to everyone like phone number, trigger and exclude words
It won't work on 5.1, fire alert works but not version 2.... Update, Now working thanks to developer!
When i open it all i get is a black screen. What am i missing?
Great that it reads the call details to your will ya already on the move to the call only way it could be better is if it could work in with apps 2 e.g active 911
Didn't work P.s Half the reviews on here are made by bots so keep an eye out
Works majority of the time but does miss maybe 1 in 10 messages sent through
Alcael one touch all I get is a blank screen except for menu
It woudn't trigger with a telephone number selected from the list. Just modify the number with +country code included and it triggers fine.
I love this app, but now I am changing to a new phone, is there a way to copy triggers and settings, or do I have to do it manually?
The app works great and keeps. You in formed on the fires
This is exactly what I was looking for. Perfect solution when the SMS messages don't always come from the same number. Thanks!
This is a great alarm app if you have to know when certain messages come in. Very flexible and easy to set up with many easy to use trigger options. Other similar apps I've tried don't work or are incredibly inflexible. This is the One!!
Awesome app, works perfectly all the time. It's great that the app is free & the customer service is the GREATEST with super fast & detailed tech support. THANK YOU.
It's blank. Also, I need to request an app that alerts home users of when a fire has been reported on their block or their apartment building. The problem I faced today is that the people who tried to get my attention banged on my door the same way that a crazy woman had done when she tried to break into my apartment. I thought she was back, so I wasted time dialing 911. They wasted time misunderstanding my address... An app alert would have notified me before the firefighters arrived and would have clarified the trouble without all the wasted time and craziness of thinking I was being broken into. Please make a home user fire-on-my-block alert app! Thanks. Note to Sven... Your reply is completely un-insightful. Get a clue. This suggestion is for a new app you can and should work on. It's necessary. What? You don't care if people burn alive because of miscommunications at their doors? Are you stupid or something???
The app is very useful, i doubt that you will miss any alerts in the future... it could however include the option to automatically copy the location of the fire site into a navigation app/googlemaps, for example. This way a lot of precious time would be saved.

wish i could give it more than 5 stars. this app is perfect! does anything and everything you could ever want. I was initially having troubles setting up an alert- enabled logging and determined that the sender wasn't coming across the way i thought it was. made the modification and now rocking it again! -- fyi -- logs are under general settings/ and then you can go view them under your device storage - firealert2-logs.
It won't work on 5.1, fire alert works but not version 2.... Update, Now working thanks to developer!
I receive hundreds of less than useful communications at night but this is easy to setup with our paging system to make sure no page goes unanswered. A little rough in appearance but it functions perfectly.
Unlike a competitor app I won't name, FireAlert 2 requires little space without sacrificing functionality. And it is ad-free (as I write this). It works well on 5.1 (Lollipop).
Eventually found a working application without side effects on my phone. Thanks!
I use this to notify me of mountain rescue call-outs. It works perfectly as described and I couldn't do without it. Many many thanks to developer for your hard work. Adam

Exactly what I was looking for. I work in IT and I use this for automated system alerts. I would never wake up with just a text or email alert. And if I had my phone on silent I would miss texts or calls. With this app, I am able to include a key work in my alerts and then the alarm triggers on that keyword. Even if you are not in IT or an emergency responder this app is great for family members. I give my kids a special keyword and tell them if they ever cant reach me, text that keyword. No worrying about them needing help and not hearing the phone because it is on silent. Love that it supports multiple alerts so I can have different key words for work and home. Please add a pay option. I would like to contribute to the development and support of this app.
