Arriva UK Bus App

I like the new home page with instant local information. However the app is only as good as the information it is given. And (from personal experience) live info is average to poor. Not sure if the fault is with frequency or quality of satellite updates from buses, or how this translates to info we are provided. Also information from late or cancelled buses often just disappears or changes to "no real time available" message

Only letting people but day passes is a blatant attempt to squeeze more money out of people. Not to mention a 10 minute journey costs me £3.80. I don't care if you have free WiFi that's a joke.

The UI is fine. The timings are still crap. Sometimes it's right, most of the time it's wrong. Today for example, the app said no bus due for 20 minutes, but lo and behold one was at the stop as I turned the corner with no chance of catching it in time. Fail. Again.

It's OK, until you come to registering an account. Constantly told there is a problem registering my account, no explanation as to why, no info on what the password should consist of. Also get constant 'internal server error' page displayed when trying to get info displayed. Noticed there is no simple 'my account ' or 'register' in the menu. Had to go into the 'service updates' section to find the register account section. Would give it 5 stars if they could fix this.

I've found it useful, but there's certainly room for improvement. Biggest bugbear is how the app assumes that you know the names of bus stops (to use as saved locations, and to get times) This makes getting to somewhere new/unfamiliar very difficult. Having the option to match a place name /address instead, then choose a nearby stop from a map, would improve things.

Incredibly inaccurate app, shows buses that no longer run, or buses that are not even running at that time. If I could give this waste of time 0 stars, I would, but unfortunately you can't rate things at 0 stars. Would not recommend to anyone who urgently needs to catch a bus for something important. Use the Metro website instead of this trash.

Since latest app update, live map does not work on my Samsung S5 and I cannot access live chat. It says no domain select after selection. Bus stop timetables are different to the apps.

Latest update has removed all the bus stops in my town. The nearest displayed stop is over a mile away. If i type my current location or press current location. I get a message saying no stops found around current afdress3.

Utterly confusing - Or maybe I am thick... Given up on it. Can't see screen properly when using it outside. Easier to use the Metro website. If this is the improved version it must have been really poor before. Will be deleting it soon.

Completely useless, timetables and bus trackers are never right. I no longer rely on this app as it's caused me to be late for work more than once. Pull your finger out Arriva, your bus service is overpriced and extremely unreliable at the best of times.

It used to be really good with live times etc but for some reason now it doesn't even show my bus?? It just shows me the really long version of what I can get. Have checked multiple days and only shows the 155 from Maidstone to Chatham and not the 101. Will delete if the update doesn't fix this.

Okay app, though the routes for Loughborough are out of date and don't take into account route changes at certain times of the day. Other then that the times are a lot more accurate then the boards dotted around the bus stops

Sometimes it tells me the bus I'm waiting for is coming....then at the time it should arrive it disappears. The bus doesn't turn up. Not good when your going to work

I use many buses a day so this should be a fabulous app... However, if it worked as it should and didn't keep wiping my valid ticket off and stopped crashing every time I use it...it would be more useful. But due to it's issues, it causes more hindrance and embarrassment when it fails to work when I need it to. The previous app had less issues!!!! Please sort it out!!!!

The previous app worked and was a God send, I used it all the time. Since the update it is rubbish, it's not user friendly or it doesn't work at all. You can only plan journeys using bus stop numbers rather than place you want to get to, you can't see the live buses nearby anywhere near as easily with the previous app and when it comes to buying tickets there is only one option for the 500 route which can only be used on certain Saturdays after 3pm. I tried to buy it today, Monday, at 8:30am. Deleted both apps. I'm 22 and quite technically savvy but this doesn't help you plan a journey or get a ticket!

Better... Generally accurate within a couple of minutes. Beats standing at a bus stop for one that's not coming. Not trustworthy enough yet to buy a ticket on after the disaster with missing tickets on the old app.

When the app works it is good, how every not all buses show up on the map so you either go out hoping it comes and either it does or you end up waiting 20 mins or more because it hasn't. Some times it says bus due in 5 mins you go out check map, bus has vanished nothing due for around 20 mins. The most annoying yet funny thing is when a bus is registering on the map in completely the wrong location and getting later and later by the minute. Sort these problems out please Arriva

On the whole, the app is ok. The timetable knowledge for whichever service is a great help, but the Live Map is not at all accurate and seriously needs to be looked at and made better. With 4G being readily available in most rural areas, I'm sure it could be improved. I would then give the extra stars making them up to five.

The apps trip planner tells me to catch 4 busses to reach my destination when in fact, the first bus will reach my destination 30 mins before the apps planned arrival. Old app much better.

I haven't used the app...why does it need access to your media files?! It asked for access to information I don't believe they need access to so refuse to use it. Arriva, sort it out.

It worked great then they updated it..now struggles to find your location barely loads any information. Time to look for a third party alternative. Also hammers the data 1.8mb in 30 seconds to say no locations nearby

A very useful app, given that I don't take the bus very often. The only ticket price given is for the day rover pass, which is unhelpful if I only want a single to somewhere nearby.

The prices listed are wrong, the times are wrong and the journey planner is Absolutely retarded - eg; a 1 bus 30 Mon journey coming up here as 2 buses and over 2 hours travel time including a 30 minute walk to anther bus stop only to catch a later bus on the same route. And why would this app need Access to your contacts list? Dodgy.

The last time I rated this was a year ago with one star. Much improved but can be a little temperamental from time to time especially with the map and where the busses are meant to be. I still occasionally have problems with buying tickets to my mobile, but saying that, the app is a lot better than it used to be. 4 stars

U know people think it is weird that two buses going different directions on a bus stop that you click on but what's the big deal you can clearly see one says one destination the other one says another anyway this is a great app for going to school by bus don't listen to the haters

Unfriendly and unreliable. Finding any destination to go is extremely uncomfortable and confusing. Online status does not work (The bus has arrived 15 min late, but the app was saying "on time"). The location of departures in your area is kind of "sometimes work". The map is not interactive and is not connected to Google maps. To find the bus stop for the recommended route was extremely difficult. Once it send me to the bus stop, which was for getting off the bus only and I missed the bus since there were no bus stop to get on in that street. This is definitely the worst public transport I have ever seen, even I tried to use it for 5 days in Liverpool. ### Don't waste your time and use Google maps..

It's not very good .Two services through Markfield both have different routes but the app says thay go the same way RUBBISH

All in all a good idea, but it has so many bugs, Like today no information on buses, unable to track and see where they are. Timetable around my way are all wrong ...

Good appointment, little slow to load but nothing bad. Urgently needs a look at how it calculates route. Only give me one route when go from my home so have to swap between home and the stop I use to see which bus is on time!

Almost as bad as their service in Kent. But thanks for making the effort. Bus timetable runs until 10 pm - buses run til 7 pm. Get it right!

Really good app but sometimes the live map isnt correct and a bit glitchy. But its accurate on how many minutes till the bus comes

Absolutely useless, shows stops that bus doesn't call at, sends you in the wrong direction, no walking speed or maximum walk distance, doesn't show connections with red buses also run by Arriva. Lack of real time information. If you relied on this app, you can be sitting at a bus stop for the rest of Eternity, awaiting a bus that it says calls at the stop! Sends you in the opposite direction to the one you want to go in, turns a 20 minute journey into a 90 minute journey, which you may end up walking most of!

Regarding No 5 bus this timetable tells you time of next bus 4 mins past hour when you get to bus stop on the hour which is 1 min away from home the bus has gone early and did not pass me, had to pay for taxi as I had appointment in Newport, I am 78 and have free bus pass but taxi cost me £7.40 which I could not really afford on a pension if the bus is supposed to leave Parade at 1.01 how is it that it had gone by 1.00, so whats the point of this timetable. This not the first.time this has happened need one that tells you were bus is so if it's early you can be at the bus stop in time!!!

The app worked great until I updated my LG G5 to Android 7.0, now it just crashes as soon as I load it and retarts my phone, so now it is completely unusable.

On more than 1 occasion the times have been completely wrong and has made me late to work

I usually find the live map to be accurate. Saves having to stand around waiting at bus stops. Very good

Doesn't work. Doesn't loaf bus stops, on the odd occasion it does when trying to see bus info just says 'unknown error'

Horrific app that continues to piss me off more and more everytime I use it. Live map has stopped showing the bus I want and can't even do a basic thing like show me how to get from A to B. It says it can but it does not.

Good if u want to know when your bus is due shame it can't tell when the driver decides not to turn up tho lol. And the only thing is the bus stop name does not always go with the street/place your in. So have to try put the road before or after your stop to get a estimate time. Other than that good app not used for anything other than times so can't comment on tickets etc
