I tried this on 4 rooted android devices. It only works on one of them. But on that one, it's awesome. Clearly there's some compatibility issues though. But for now I have an old phone with a 64gb flash drive plugged into it working. Its sitting in my window and 2 of my neighbors have downloaded stuff from it over the last 24hrs. I'm happy with that so far!

Hey there, I am on a Note 4 Samsung for Sprint. I get an endless loop on it being setup. Could you give some help this way? I know this would be an amazing app to have.

Fascinating concept. I really like the idea of it. Could prove interesting if you use it in a crowded place. Doesn't work on every phone. Developer needs to fix SD write_permissions.

Users can never connect as they can't obtain a IP address. Tried on Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Samsung devices as well as some Chinese phones

App has started working on my Moto E 2nd Generation on Android 7.1.1 but it would be nice if the hotspot option ticked on and off automatically without me having to press it.

I find it awesome that Piratebox is now available on android and appreciate the work of the devs. However it would be nice if the icons and images where higher resolutions to give it a professional feel.

Amazing App works really well with Nexus 6 CM12. Any plans to allow a larger upload limit beyond 2GB.

X70%
by X####:

Very well-done app, kudos! One suggestion would be to make easier to connect to it (i.e., a message that says to which IP users can use).

I have an old galaxy s4 that i wanted to use it on but I cant because it doesnt have a sim card so the wifi hotspot wont turn on. Oh well

Could you add an option to allow the access point to normaly resolve domain names(or maybe with a custom dns server like openNIC) and connect the client to them. And only connect to the internal pirate(.)box site if the user types an unresolveable url into his browser ? Upload/Shout Notifications; option to disable uploading

Works great on my Transformer tablet. But on my Samsung Galaxy S4 mini the hotspot is blocking the app from working. Because I am not subscribed to the tether thing.

X70%
by X####:

Not supported on galaxy S6 but I would love to see it supported. Would get a lot more downloads.EDIT: LOL, I did not even know that this was the official app. But please! Make this device supported

G70%

Just keep bouncing back and forth between on and off until I restart my phone

A70%
by A####:

Keeps switching the tethering on and of every few seconds and ends up rebooting my phone. Not a stable application on my Galaxy S 4.

I70%
by I####:

Switches on for a couple seconds then fails to fully turn on. Continues doing so until it causes a full reboot. Great concept but wish it supported more phones :/

X70%
by X####:

As I understand, this app extends the tethering functionality already programmed into Android builds for cellular devices. If your device does not have a cellular radio, the support functionality is not there, and the app will not work. This is disappointing as cellular connectivity has no relation to creating a WiFi hotspot.
