DeskNotifier Free for Android
It won't let me connect and the IP provided in the phone app is all negative. There must be a glitch or a bug somewhere. I already sent an email to the developers. Hopefully this will get fixed soon Great app idea still!
It managed to work for a day or two, and sometimes wakes up if the Moon is in the right phase when I reboot, but it constantly asks me to "install your phone drivers and connect the USB cable". Done all those, but still, it complains.
You can't filter any notifications. My weather widget puts a temperature notification on the notification bar and this app throws up about a dozen notifications with one update.
This is just perfect. Needs some polishing... (some notifications appear in german when english language is the one used) and the window with the conversation only appears once
It's great. Just needs a setting for notification time. It would also be great if we could exclude certain things from notifying.
This app is GREAT for getting a notification on your PC. Just wish there was a way to see notifications more than once; like a list or table. Also to be able to send a sms to someone that's not in your contacts
Doesn't work! Tried the Ip address the app gave me and nothing! DON'T DOWNLOAD!
Please help, I don't know why but the app doesn't show on the accessibility services: I'm running KitKat 4.4.4 on 1st gen Moto G
while sending sms the application is disconnecting, otherwise is working great
I've installed this app,but when it asks to activate in the accessibility settings I cannot find desknotifer listed in it. Its not even here in the notification access settings (Running 4.4.4)...
Works great with an easy 2 step setup basically! Can't believe how important this app would turn out to be for me, and it's free!
Very well done, though I have some suggestions: 1) I'm prioritizing receiving notifications on my phone instead of my tablet because texts are more important, my tablet is my primary device however. If you could push notifications from 1+ devices, that'd be super! 2) Synker notifications happen every few minutes for me and it spams the notification bar. I need this on my phone, but not my PC. If you could hide notifs from certain apps, that'd be wonderful! Oh right, I'd install this on my tablet like I said, but the app doesn't support Jelly Bean, yet.
Works great, but it could still be better. There are numerous ways to display notifications. Growl, for one, managed to do this really nicely. Could you make an option to forward notifications to Growl, so that we can make use of it's plugin library to display notifications or do anything else with it?
Great concept but you can't turn it off and the app server on desktop is VERY boring, no design front.
I love this app as it lets me see the Notifications on my PC even when I am connected to my corporate LAN as it supports USB connection. Just need to be able to reply to notifications to qualify for 5 stars. Until then I will happily give 4 stars. No hard feelings :)
Works great. Only issue I found was with the contact list when sending an SMS. It only seems to allow the selection of the first phone number in a contact's information.
This app does a great job the only thing I wish is that you could customize which notifications get pushed for you don't get all the popups when you're playing with titanium backup for example.
Would give 5 stars if a few things were done: Nicer UI and theme for texting, aswell as the ability to show entire conversation. Replying to whatsapp messages would also be great! Clearing notifications on phone when viewed on pc/answering text is also something that is needed. Most of this is implemented in other desktop smsing apps!
It does what it says. However, it needs some degree of authentication which doesn't currently exist.
good concept but i wish it could connect via bluetooth. i use my phone as wifi and connecting via usb is annoying. anyway would be great if it were Bluetooth compatible.
Works great on my Skyrocket running ICS. Just wish there was a whitelist/blacklist kind of option so that we could select which notifications were pushed and which were not. With DeskSMS running, I already get desktop notifications of SMS messages. This duplicates that.
I like it a lot very useful and easy to set up, only thing I would like the app to do is to clear the notification on the phone too.
But wouldn't connect to Vista over WiFi for me.
my app is not getting connected via wifi.can anyone help..???
Five starts for the great start...USB connection support is simply great. Has potential of becoming a great app. All the best!
It looks very promising! Please develop this further. Make the existing functionality better (for example, I can't see a second number from a contact, thus I can't sms them if the number is their landline). Looking forward to new functionality too!
Awesome app. This is a lot lighter and easier to use (read: hide from boss) than AirDroid, but has a few tiny bugs. The PC Client displays SMS notifications from the stock messaging app AND any third party messaging apps. There needs to be a setting to choose which apps to notify and which to ignore. I really enjoy the simplicity, but the PC Notifications should have an easier option to reply (unless I just can't find it) All in all, this is a great small quick application that I will be sure to use daily. 5 Stars even with the quirks. I would absolutely LOVE a similar app to be notified of text messages on my ICS Tablet. I'm happy to donate for that! Thanks Dev
After updating Android app, the desktop app is promoted to update too. But the download from website is a same old version and 1kb file. It's now not working any more.
Good concept. It did what is was supposed to in tandem with the desktop program. But the way it uses the accessibility "talk back" function was problematic. When this program was on, it also activated other talk back features e.g. when opening a folder on the home screen my phone would say "The folder is open" upon closing "The folder is closed". This was annoying. Silencing the phone had no effect as the talk back sound is technically media.
It loses the Wi-Fi connection over time... I have to manually reconnect from the PC application! The notifications on my Windows7 machine are just visual, NO SOUND although in the options/settings the box is marked to do that. Please fix that and make the PC app to notify both visual and audio and not to lose the connection!
Not to spoil a great idea, but little tweaks - 1. no connection over usb on winxp with kies drivers. 2. send sms only allows sending to contacts from the phone, not to new number. More later.
I had the first version of the desktop app but since an android app update it ask me to update it. After updating the desktop app it doesn't make any sound at all. Re-installing doesn't work
I think the newest version of Java (V6 Update 41) broke the PC install. The app worked great up until then.
Loved to use this app on my S5830, but on my S3 it won't show up in accessibility settings. Nice to see that you fixed that problem for the paid version, but not the free one.
Whatsapp does not activate the notification. Only calls & SMS works. :(
DeskNotifier does not appear on Accessibility settings of my sgs2. can't use it...
App doesnt have accessibility option
It shows a Whatsapp notification, but it doesnt deliver the message. So its pretty useless.
Great app

Displays notifications instantly but often displays duplicates of the same message. For example, when Weather Bug receives an update I am notified twice of the update. The same thing is happening with alerts from Facebook. Please fix the duplicate messages.
