Auf Initiative der Stadt Freiberg wurde die Freiberg-App entwickelt, die seit dem 13. Juli für iOS und Android kostenlos zur Verfügung steht.

Web und App in kommunaler Hand
Die Stadt ist Herr über die App und nutzt die neuen mobilen Möglichkeiten für ein abgestimmtes Gesamtkonzept, beim dem das Zusammenspiel mit örtlichen Gruppen und Gewerbe eine wichtige Rolle spielt. Bürgermeister Dirk Schaible: „Wir kommen durch die Freiberg-App mit den kommunalen und gewerblichen Informationen viel besser an User heran. Die App ist für uns ein wichtiges Kommunikationsinstrument.“
Die Freiberg-App
Die App enthält Funktionen wie Volltextsuche und Öffnungszeiten. Sie steht für die Betriebssysteme iOS und Android zur Verfügung. Die besteht zum Start aus 18 Themenbereichen, die ein Konzentrat aus den Angebote und Aktivitäten in Freiberg darstellen. Neben Übernachtungsbetrieben erhalten Nutzer auch Informationen zu Gastronomie, Öffentlichen Einrichtungen, Veranstaltungen, Sehenswertes.

Enthalten sind vor allem auch Kartenfunktion mit sämtlichen standortbezogenen Informationen sowie der „LiveGuide“ Freiberg: Der virtuelle Freiberg -Guide basiert auf „Augmented Reality“, mit dem man sich live in Freiberg bewegen kann. Alle Objekte sind hier mit individueller Entfernungsberechnung zum eigenen Standort per Themenauswahl abrufbar.

Einkaufsführer mit Öffnungszeiten und aktuellen Angeboten
Kunden sind mehr als bereit, ihr mobiles Endgerät als Shopping-Hilfe zu nutzen. Studien zufolge recherchieren etwa drei Viertel der mobilen Nutzer über ihr mobiles Gerät, bevor sie einen Einkauf tätigen. Die App bietet perfekte Voraussetzungen, um die Leistungsfähigkeit und Angebote der Unternehmen darzustellen. Die Unternehmen pflegen dabei über ein Redaktionssystem ihre Daten selbst ein. So wird zum Beispiel angezeigt, wie lange ein Unternehmen noch geöffnet hat.

Plattform „Aktuelles und Angebote“
Die Stadt Freiberg hat nun für eine Plattform gesorgt, die mobile Angebote bündelt und über eine große Reichweite verfügt. Ein besonderes Feature der App ist die Nutzung aktueller Informationen der Stadt sowie der teilnehmenden Vereine, Einrichtungen und Unternehmen. Nutzer können mit ihrem Smartphone oder Tablet aktuelle Angebote, Informationen und Veranstaltungstipps im definierten Umkreis abrufen. Dazu erkennt und zeigt die App automatisch relevante News in bestimmter Entfernung zum aktuellen Standort. Diese zeitgesteuerten Artikel werden von den lokalen Redakteuren selber eingestellt und sind damit immer topaktuell. Hat man ein tolles Angebot gefunden, führt die App auch direkt zum Anbieter. Das lohnt sich natürlich nicht nur für die Nutzer, sondern auch für die Unternehmen, Einrichtungen und Vereine.

Push-Funktionen bei neuen Nachrichten
Werden von einem Redakteur neue Nachrichten oder Angebote eingestellt, erhalten die App-Nutzer automatisch eine Benachrichtigung auf ihr Smartphone. Die Anzahl der neuen Nachrichten wird eingeblendet. Durch diese sogenannte „Push-Funktion“ werden die Nutzer - im Unterschied zu Websites - aktiv auf neue Informationen hingewiesen und sind ständig über Neuigkeiten rund um Freiberg per Smartphone informiert!

Bürgermeister Dirk Schaible: „Ziel der Initiative ist eine aktive, moderne Präsentation der Stadt, real und virtuell. Gleichzeitig wollen wir unsere Bürger und Gäste aktiv informieren. Auf Freiberg soll aufmerksam gemacht werden. Wir sind glücklich, dass Handel und die örtliche Gruppen kooperieren und aktiv am mobilen Freiberg mitgestalten!“

Die App benötigt die Kamera-Berechtigung, um für die AugmentedReality-Funktion darauf zugreifen zu können.
