Extremely useless app. I have the remote services subscribed to and still not able to issue a remote lock/unlock using the app. It just fails everytime with the same error message as: Transmission of remote services may take several seconds.

Does what is says. Mainly using to check status like charging. Few odd things like charge time sees to be Munich time vs local. Some updates to charge timing took more than one attempt to update.

Does not work. Keeps telling my car is registered but won't show it. 2018 Series 5 and a non functioning app As suggested removing the app and reinstalling seems to have helped.

Not showing my car anymore. I put the vin in and says car is already in app. Go to my profile and there are no cars registered. Using galaxy S8+. I go back and put vin in again and comes back up car already registered.

I have a 430i and noting works besides the Callander. I have ran every troubleshooting step out there. Total rip off and a bait and switch when I purchased this vehicle. And BMW is of no help fixing this. Get your act together bmw. As a developer android is over 76% of the global market. Android development should come first over Apple.

Spotify app and others apps are buggy and slow using an Android phone (Galaxy S8), unlike my iPhone. Please address and stop the discrimination on Android users.

Got a new phone and logged in, car isn't there anymore. Go to the website, still shows my car. When trying to readd it, complains that my car is already connected. Junk.

Update 09/29/2017 Stability seems good now. But app is still basically useless other than sending commands. Doesn't tell you anything about vehicle status (locked, windows open, etc.). This is especially dumb since how will you know if you need to lock your car? Or if my Climate Comfort is active still? The iRemote app was way better for the i3. Update 07/07/2017 I'm dropping 2 stars. Based on recent 2 updates, while improving the overall look and ease of use have hindered the app. The two major issues are: 1. I now get randomly logged out. Based in my original review below, BMW had fixed that bug for me months ago. But they've reintroduced the bug with the second to last update. Granted its not as often as before. 2. This last big overhaul in June 2017 has killed vehicle status on doors and windows. The app no longer displays if doors are unlocked or windows are open. On a related noted, the BMW Connected Alexa skill now always says doors are locked and windows are closed, even when they're not. So im wondering if this is a server side issue. At least my vehicle charging status and estimated range is roughly correct. UPDATE: Alexa is now saying doors LOCKED and windows OPEN... but they're closed. App shows nothing. Ok, im thinking this is a server issue. I had them open 10 minutes ago but they've been closed since and are definitely not open now. On a side not, they should also add status on the climate control for EV/PHEV vehicles. Another good feature would be the ability to unlock just the charging port handle from the car if someone needs to charge and you're away. ----------------------------------------------------- Original 4 Star Review The first update a couple days ago worked fine on my Pixel XL. I wasn't having any crash issues as others are reporting. So this last one pally won't affect me. Anyway, this app is now finally useful! I'm comparing it to the iRemote app. They've now added the ability to edit the delayed/TOU charging functionality as well as show efficiency statistics of the last trip. I haven't tested delayed/TOU feature yet, though. The only thing i think it's missing from the iRemote app is the fun stuff like the community stats and personal efficiency history. One new thing I noticed is for activating climate control. They've now added notification as each step completes! That was the most annoying thing about both the iRemote and initial versions of this app. You would have no way of really knowing if it was a succuss unless you kept the app active and stared at it until it finished. That was annoying because sometimes it takes awhile for the servers and car to communicate. Now a little fan pops up in the notification area and gives you 3 status updates as each step completes. It also looks like they've resolved the logout issue as of 3 updates ago. I haven't been logged out since then. Finally, the Android supported connected apps are still the same old 3. No additions. They've created a hub section showing the apps, but support hasn't been improved compared to iOS. This doesn't affect me much since i don't use this feature, but for others that use Spotify, etc. you're out of luck.

When will this App work like it does on Apple phones? Does not show Pandora Playlist. I even had a 2018 750i and still did not work. Give up bmw or give up android? Going to apple means losing emails and calendar functions from what the bmw Genius guys told me. Get it together! This is ridiculous. 2016 BMW 550i M Sport...

U70%
by U####:

Love my M4, but this app needs a lot of work. Embrace Android and get with the program BMW. Over 90% of the world uses it and that number will continue to grow. FIX PANDORA INTEGRATION! It shows up in the app, but not in the car. The Smartthings integration is a nice start, but I would like to see more done here. Time for some creative German engineering. ;) I am noticing some battery drain. Please ensure nougat optimization. Support Google Home. It will end up beating Alexa....it's more powerful and open.

It is 100% clear, BMW clearly focuses on iOS version of this app and neglects Android. I have this installed on my iPhone, I can share an address to it from Google maps, but it does not work in this app. BMW, stop neglecting Android!!!! :(

T70%
by T####:

This app exemplifies how BMW can engineer a great car but cannot do software and mobile integration. Android Auto (completely incompatible w/BMW by their choice) exemplifies how things should be done. This app, and BMW's so-called 'Connected Drive' in general, could have been written by a 12-year old. Buggy, limited or lack of features, no product evolution. I rented a Hyundai Elantra last week that was MILES ahead of BMW in terms of mobile integration. And while I won't be purchasing a Hyundai, you can bet I'll be looking past BMW next time around.

Spotify in the app says it works with all bmws with bmw apps using bluetooth. I have a 2016 2 series with nav/apps and cannot figure out how to get the spotify app on the screen. There is so much conflicting information online.

Own a 2014 535i. All features work except for locating mh vehicle. It always says my vehicle is out of range and can never actually locate the vehicle. Also, it would be nice to see a remote start feature, also, the ability to start the vehicle defrost, seat warmers, and steering wheel heater. Also, android support with apps is useless. It drains phone battery If i run this app and have it plugged into the usb port in the car. This app has so much potential and would love to see better android integration and google integration between the phone and car. Hint* Google maps in car. *hint

U70%
by U####:

The concept is very nice. I use it in a 330i. When it works it does an amazing job. But a lot of times it says that it's not able to connect to the car. Even if Bluetooth if is connected, it gives errors that the app is not connected. A critical feature that is missing and must have is the ability to open map links. If I have a link to a destination, I can open the link in Google maps but not this app. Please add this feature in the next release

We have an i3 and the vehicle status is often several hours old with no apparent way to force a refresh. Battery status is important and needs to be current... BMW, can you be more specific? Does the i3 fall in that category of needing to be connected via USB or BT? My home wifi network does reach to the garage. Sometimes I get an up-to-the minute status. I just don't understand what is necessary to refresh/update the status. There does not seem to be a way to trigger a refresh, is there? When I see a status, is that the app (phone) connecting to the car, or does the car feed a databank and the app draws from the data there?

Exteme drain on Galaxy S7 battery. Always running in background. Shows car in motion when it's not and renders app useless. I work for BMW as well, so I know my way around the app. If everything worked as intended would be a great app. Not the case and forced to uninstall it. Would love some feedback. I've heard a new improved app is launching soon. Hoping it's true.

Bought a 2018 530e less than a week ago. This app worked great for the first day. Constantly says vehicle is in motion. Called support and completely useless. Very disappointed in BMW. How can you not make a working app? Really wish I would have bought a Tesla.

U70%
by U####:

None of the features described are available on my phone app. 2017 x5. My disappointment is infinite. Just 100 miles in the car and already want to return it. Update 10/4/2017. After initial download not showing features I had to download the older application "my BMW Remote" as per customer support. Then magically this one started showing all the features. It could be also because I completed the online registration and profile. It would have been good to know from the beginning to avoid the initial disgust. I have rated 4 starts for lacking remote start feature that even GM cars have.

U70%
by U####:

With a '16 328i, pretty much useless. Status doesn't update unless physically connected. The things it can do are gimmicks, not worth the battery drain or memory. Leaves log files all over the place.

Q70%
by Q####:

App works, the bad review is due to the fact that it asks me 5-10 times a month on a scale of 0-10 if I would recommend this app to a friend or colleague. Stop, just stop. I don't need to answer this question every goddamn time I try to start my car. I wouldn't even use this app if I could start my car from my keys.

U70%
by U####:

I have a 2016 M4. The way directions works is unintuitive. If I want to walk to my car it will open Google maps. If I want to look for directions it has the basic web style Google maps. You can send directions to the car from the Web on Google maps why not from the app? I think you guys over thought this part. You really should add the ability to share a destination with the app from Google maps.

U70%
by U####:

I think it is ridiculous that BMW does not care to include Android customers when it comes to this app. Not all people like Apple. I love my Android, and absolutely loved the Android Auto mirror app. I also do not understand why there is not a way to refresh the app manually. Today is 28 NOV 17 and the last updated status on my X4 showing is from 02 NOV 2017. I feel ripped off- wasted $50 to do nothing more than I was already doing with my Bluetooth in the vehicle.

U70%

Super buggy and unintuitive. Connected apps like Spotify work 50% of the time. idrive hangs or crashes just by selecting the media input and trying to select Spotify.

APPS do not work with androids phones. Pandora, Spotify, etc. Not visible to vehicle. Brand new 540i and i cant use the apps..not good. Rented a ford flex while i was away with better succes.

This is the MOST useless app i have ever used. Common BMW, you can do better and you should do better. I am third generation of BMW owner in my family. Love our BMW cars but common, do it right the first time. I live in North East of U.S with harsh cold winter weather. What is this app can really do for me? It can't even give me the status of commands. I hardly give bad reviews, go back to R&D and get it right, and pleeeaaassse it is 21st century. The user interface on your cars still same as 15 years ago. Common catch up.

U70%
by U####:

It mostly works on my 2018 BMW 440i Gran Coupe. It has worked 100% of the time for car location, remote horn, remote lights, status, and controlling ventilation. But sending a destination to the car through the app via Bluetooth has been hit or miss. Usually, if I close the app and restart it, it will work the 2nd time. But this morning I did this 4 times and my car would not put up the route for my destination. For other BMW owners with Android phones, if you find a place in Google or Yelp, and you press and hold your finger on the address portion of that place, you will see "Address copied to clipboard." When you open up the BMW Connected app, you will see that address at the very top of your destination list. Send that destination address, and it should come up on your car's navigation. But like I said, sending the destinations to the car have been hit or miss for me. :/

M70%
by M####:

Pathetic. I will give it ZERO star if I could

U70%
by U####:

I have just installed it and although it works, it is soooooo sloooooow that it is close to be useless; example unlock or lock the car takes 10 seconds or more. I actually installed it in order to be able to remotely open my convertible top, but the app does not have it; in addition, provided that the locking and unlocking is very slow, it appears that this would be useless as well. Provided that my FOB is very sporadic with remote top up and down, I believe that I should buy a different car next time.

C70%
by C####:

Constantly drops/forgets my car, making the app unusable. Update: after BMW customer service forced the car back into my profile I can now use the app. The app is a little slow, but ultimately does what it's suppose to do.

App SUCKS. I have an iPhone and it works fine there. But on android, I can't even get the app to connect so I can configure app for the car. Try checking these apps before pushing them out BMW

U70%

great app! works great on my '14 335i it has a 5 sec. to 10 sec. delay when u want to unlock and turn on lights, but it is worth cause u can control your vehicle from miles and miles away from your car or if it gets stolen or u let someone borrow it u can see exactly where your car is just by tracking with the app! .....if it don't work properly remember this app is made for '14 and up! so quit whining!!!!!!! I WISH I COUKD GET A FREE 30 DAY TRIAL FOR THE CONNECTED DRIVE ESPECIALLY CAUSE IM ALWAYS ON THE ROAD, AND BEING ABLE TO CHECK YOUR APPS JUST FROM YOUR INFOSYSTEM IS SO MUCH SAFER THAN LOOKING DOWN ON YOUR PHONE... THANK YOU BMW I KNOW I WILL GET HOOKED ON IT

U70%
by U####:

Really awful. Besides lacking basic function like remote start, the app constantly drops my vehicle from the app and then tells me it's already on the account when I try to add it. Super frustrating.
