About art city guide
art is Europe’s leading art magazine with the largest readership. With the art city guide it offers an ideal companion for traveling and seeing galleries in Berlin, museums in Zurich or new off-spaces in Vienna. The art city guide recommends selected highlights in 25 major art-cities in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. For each city, the classics are listed: these are the museums you have to see. Additionally, inside tips are given: gallery areas, sculpture parcs, off-spaces and the legendary German Kunstvereine. For each listing all necessary information is given as well as a comprehensive image series to set the mood for a visit. All locations are directly linked to the map of your phone, so you can easily get directions. Moreover, you can look for current recommendations of exhibitions.

Few entries, little information, poor readability on phone. May be useful if you have absolutely no knowledge of Germany, and are only spending a few hours in any of these cities, but if you're expecting this app to reflect the parent magazine's coverage, you'll be very disappointed. Dresden section provided less information than could be found in a few minutes on the city's tourism website -- typically one or two paragraphs from each gallery/museum's self-description. No in-depth articles from Art (parent) magazine, which I had assumed was the point of the app. No useful tips (best time to visit, hidden treasures in each collection, etc.). App doesn't support horizontal orientation, or resizing of text and of (very small) pictures. Grossly overpriced for what it offers.
