Live Star Chart (Planetarium) for Android
Easy to use is understatement! As an old deep water navigator this thing beats a Natl. Geograhic star chart I had on my desk aboard ship. And it was pretty good. I will pay when the seven day trial is over.
Just what the doctor, or in this case the photographer ordered. Now I can find pictures of specific stars or distant objects to take pictures of
I Iike it a lot, especially as you can select azimuth to work either poles. I have tried a dozen other star charts and this in terms of practicality is way ahead of the rest.
I would have to be picky to criticize. It is just shy of perfectly robust. Bravo.
Best app out there but I have paid version and it still says my trial version is expired and cannot use full functionality
Can't find my location
Everything I need in this Field
Not live n
Doesn't track
Best star app! I absolutely love it!
Good app for sky view
Installed to try it out and compare it to my usual night sky app. Found out it's pointing in completely the wrong direction. Tried recalibration of the compass, but that didn't fix it. Couldn't get it to point in the right direction. Uninstalled.
This is a really nice app. I use it in place of a traditional star atlas when I'm out observing with my telescope. I use its horizon coordinate display (Altitude and Azimuth) in coordination with the setting circles on my scope to locate faint fuzzy objects not visible to the naked eye. I only have two nitpicks. 1. I wish the altitude and azimuth display was in a larger font so I could read it. It's especially difficult to read when in red night vision mode. 2. I wish this same display was in the proper order...altitude then azimuth. Instead it's reversed for some reason.. Other than that, it does what I need it to do.
I Iike it a lot, but as the Sun at present has north declination,, the azimuth would normally worked from that pole Why not just give the Bearing ,. Very few people know the proper definition of 'azimuth' and then it works whatever the Dec or geographic position. And irrespective of being a navigator or astronomer !
Works well but has flaws does not show earth or zeta reticuli fix this and I will give it five stsrs
Doesn't work. All I get is a frozen screen that doesn't move or change no matter what I do. Uninstalled
The more I use this app and the more I learn about it, the more I am of the opinion that it is vastly superior to other apps of this sort. The other apps are not bad, by the way.
One advise please add more common names of stars as approved by IAU
Bagus dan berguna
A good application I am using it for alignement of my telescope
No problems, works just fine.
Got the information I was looking for!
I like good job
Downloaded theee times but every time couldn't be installed on my Note3 !
Love it
Fantastic
Like it a lot

I instantly fell in love with this app when I first installed it. Being able to single an object out, select it and view all the information you could ever want about it is by far the best part. I enjoyed this app so much that when my trial for the pro version ran out I knew I had to buy it again. Lo and behold, the tracking mode is severely broken. I'll be facing north and it tells me I'm facing south, facing west and it says I'm facing east. High accuracy and rotating the phone doesn't fix it. sad is me.
I believe alcyon software are always the best. Well designed and reliable information of stars and planet, also amazing tools for finding events and phenomenon are the most important characteristics of this lovely application. I hope it will be better and better in the future updates. I recommend to everybody who are working in serious astronomy.
This is a very detailed star map app, although something is still wrong with the live view. Im in tropical area and gmt +7 but at around noon time and the app showing the sun to be around the horizon.
It helps me learn the sky every night I'm getting to know the stars names now I'm getting to learn what type of stars they are because by looking at him every night knowing their names I can look them up on google and find out what classification of the start is and it's quite concerning that we have that's super giant star they only live a hundred thousand years and you never know when they're going to go off your mind already blown up in the light hasn't got here yet anyways I just love the application
I would happily give this 5 stars because it really does look like a great app. However, it's listed as being free and it's NOT. This is a 7 day trial version and you have to buy it to continue to use it. Bait and switch and somewhat dishonest as it's not obviously stated upfront.
This app has just about everything you could imagine you need for Astronomy. I have everything I need now for even the most demanding observing session, all at my fingertips. A fabulous job in creating this one!
Looks good, but live mode is broken. In landscape mode, I am seeing the southern hemisphere. In portrait mode, the zenith is shown as being on the horizon. Turning the tablet between landscape and portrait switches live mode off. Can't calibrate the compass as the calibration dialog disappears as the device is turned. Pretty much useless as it is. Uninstalled.
If you want or need a catalog for star gazing, this app is for you. Full of information and compatible with other apps!
I just want to say that this is a fabulous app. I like the fact that it remains stationary and provides plenty of detail.
(1) on the center cross, RA/Decl data is also shown in addition to the Az/Alt data (2) if i use equatorial coord. grid, on the lower right, it should read RA/Decl instead of RA/RA, minor mistake but a bit annoying, overall, great job!
Having tried plenty of star chart apps, this is one of the nicest. Not too complex and really well designed. I shall be using this a lot. Thank you.
