Media Center Control for Android
Excellent app for controlling media player or center from the comfort of your couch. Very impressed. Used it on my Samsung note phone. Excellent on my kindle tablet too in landscape mode. I have it installed on win7 x64.
Great app and easy to install. Now I can manage my tunes from the couch.
Does exactly what I wanted! The server application should be a little more refined but this app is fantastic!
This is a truly superb app. I can't understand why some people are not able to use it. I found it so straight forward to set up; took me about 2 minutes. It does everything it promises and does it much better than I expected. One thing which would make it better - streaming PC to tablet/phone. Win8 Pro / ASUS TF101
It would be nice if the playlist would also show the song that was playing so that if a particular artist's song was playing we could see their other songs and easily play another rather than having to scroll the whole list every time.
Does what it claims in an organized way. Read the instructions, some of the features are controlled by the server and not by the client app. Some minor cosmetic issues. Given the poor quality of many of the alternatives this app is a joy.
Trying to stream to my nexus 7, everything seems to freeze when I try to play videos from my computer . Not very impressed. Everything worked as it should up to that final most important bit.
$7 wasted for an app that crashes on my system and where the author offers no support even after multiple requests. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.
The server takes over your media center start/stop functionality and does a very poor job. Search is extremely slow and doesn't work most if the time. There is no trial version of this app. Your only option is to buy it and then no refund option is provided.
did exactly what I was looking for. It allowed me to see all my movies and music right on my tablet and select which one I wanted to play. The only thing is I wish it supported bluetooth.
Feels a bit clunky still, UI not the prettiest. OK on a phone, but desperately needs a tablet specific version.
Great app and easy to install. Now I can manage my tunes from the couch.
Works OK, but needs better position controls when playing videos. The bar is often unresponsive and pause button is too small. Needs more control over UI in general - font size etc.
Worth every penny. Cheap way to control Windows Media Center from your Android device. Has it's own interface or the original WMC controls are available.
Great app and easy to install. Now I can manage my tunes from the couch.
Does exactly what I wanted! The server application should be a little more refined but this app is fantastic!
Best remote for WMC ever. Works without any issues and even plays my favorite webradios. Best thing is, the TV can stay off when changing/listening to radio and music as the mobile has all the details on the screen. Can only recommend this app. Viele Grüße aus Australien!
Don't usually buy apps over £3 incase its a waste of money but took a Chance and glad I did, brilliant app, as long as u follow the setup instructions, had it 5 mins and already made my home entertainment system better
This app is excellent, allows you to do exactly as it says. It does it so much better than any of the other remote apps, but if you are a media centre user then this one trounces them all. I love the fact that you can search through your music (album art and all) and queue items up to play - this was the main item that I was after as other remote apps seemed to only allow you to select one track at a time and had to be viewed by folder only. The fact that you can search the tv listings, set up recordings, view your recorded tv, movies and radio as well only makes it even more worthwhile. Thanks very much dev, this app is well worth the money!
I have been using WMC on my HTPC for a couple of years, and I have tried numerous paid and free apps on iOS or Android, none on which has felt anywhere near as natural as the standard Microsoft infra-red remote, thus I have stopped using each of them after a day or two. The reason this works so well is that it is a perfect secondary remote - it lacks tactile buttons for constant channel hopping and browsing menus, but it is excellent for loading up media, searching, playing music and entering text, which are the most tedious tasks on a TV. It is a blessing for showing pictures and parties, as you can turn the TV off. It still has a standard set of buttons too in case your primary remote gets lost (or you fancy a fight). The interface could be nicer (like the majority of Android apps), but it is clean and easy to use. The server also is excellent and particularly painless to install. Very well done.
I'm using Windows Media Center as my DVR now, and this does a great job of acting as a remote for it! Takes a little getting used to, but not much. Very responsive, over home lan. Only one (obscure) request: my bedroom PC has two displays: one is my desktop, the other, larger is the bedroom TV. WMC is starting one the desktop PC and I'd like an easy way to cycle it to the other, like the Windows Shift-Win-rightarrow sequence. The UI is not quite as pretty on Nexus 7, but the fact that I can recycle my OG Droid to this purpose makes up. Nice job, developer!
Extremely complex to install and fraught with pitfalls. Once running it has more bugs and unseen changes to media center than features. Yuck and no refund - you can guess why, they would go broke!
What a superb quick working app. Does all it says it does and flawless with it. I have only one gripe and that is the ui. It could look better
Great App for Windows Media Center had some problems getting it to go in and out of standby but is now working great well done to the developers of this all I need now is to be able to turn on and control the T/V and surround sound which would need some sort of wireless to I/R interface ?
Need the ability to play recorded tv (or even stream live) on your phone. you can watch recorded tv with remote media centre and its free.
Struggled to get it to connect to a second computer. Once I resolved the network conflict it was fine. Great app but poor support.
Words fail me when it comes to describing how good this app is. Have been using it for months without a problem. I can't believe how much functionality it has, how fast it is and how easy it is to set up. Brilliant
Needs a full screen control when using media player.. Add this feature and you get full marks

Take 2long 2 find my computer! B good if it actual Worked!
Now I can sit outside with my music remote... you beauty
Better than all the rest. Would be nice if you could stream to your device .works great my mates
I tried a few Media Center controllers, and this one works the best. Pluses: Works well for the most part Will automatically start Media Center if it is not running Cons: UI is not great
This program works well, and is exactly as stated. The Day I downloaded the app, was a day when the website was down and sent the developer a message, saying I could not download the windows client, he responded within 2 hrs. with a solution to get me up and running. Great Customer Support. I hope future releases will support the commercial skip support that is out there ( DVRMS Toolbox WMC plugin). With this update this program would be the ultimate companion.
I never could get the server to work. It always crashed when I launched it. Hoping to get a refund on the phone app...
works great, exactly what I was looking for. using it with Vista, but only with WMP (incompatible with vista MCE) still, other than the tv scheduling and playback, does everything else I need.
Superb
Media Center PC in basement, but speakers wired throughout house. Display in living room, but never have had an Android based solution, for example, for my wife to be getting ready post-shower in bathroom and actually see Media Center to pick music, or me in the garage or on the deck. Over the years I've messed with Remote Access, Chrome, Ceton app, etc. Everything was too clunky to really use past an initial try. Just installed the Media Center Control Server and this app and showed my wife. She was so excited, she picked up the dog and danced with it (not a small dog). She just left to go to the store and a particularly favorite song of mine came on as she left the garage. Note: I've never reviewed an app before or paid for many apps. Thanks to the developer.
I knew what I finally figured out.how to find my Mac and network password! Gee this should be explained in the setup process.not everyone is a computer expert. Now things are working fine.

Cannot get control to stay connected to a computer long enough to get any use of it. But when you do its brilliant, got issues sorted now and would recommend this.
