Das bpa.Magazin ist die Mitgliederzeitschrift des Bundesverbandes privater Anbieter sozialer Dienste e. V. (bpa) und erscheint in fünf Ausgaben pro Jahr.

Fakten über den bpa
Der Bundesverband privater Anbieter sozialer Dienste e. V. (bpa) bildet mit mehr als 7.500 aktiven Mitgliedseinrichtungen die größte Interessenvertretung privater Anbieter sozialer Dienstleistungen in Deutschland. Einrichtungen der ambulanten und (teil-) stationären Pflege, der Behindertenhilfe und der Kinder- und Jugendhilfe in privater Trägerschaft sind im bpa organisiert.

Die Mitglieder des bpa tragen die Verantwortung für rund 230.000 Arbeitsplätze und ca. 17.700 Ausbildungsplätze. Das investierte Kapital liegt bei etwa 18,2 Milliarden Euro.

Verbandsgeschichte
Gegründet wurde der bpa 1964 und hat den Sitz seiner Bundesgeschäftsstelle in Berlin. Seit 1989 gehört der bpa als Gründungsmitglied zur European Confederationof Care Home Organisations (E.C.H.O.), der Europäischen Vereinigung privater Einrichtungsträgerverbände mit Sitz in Brüssel, deren Vize-Präsident bpa-Präsident Bernd Meurer ist.

Verbandsstruktur
Der bpa ist in 16 Landesgruppen organisiert, die alle Bundesländer abdecken und deren Landesgeschäftsstellen sich in der Regel in der Landeshauptstadt befinden. An der Spitze des 7-köpfigen Präsidiums steht seit 1997 Bernd Meurer.

Neben der ehrenamtlichen Struktur, die auf Bundes- wie auf Landesebene besteht, gibt es eine hauptamtliche Struktur mit 100 Mitarbeitern in bundesweit 17Geschäftsstellen sowie einem Büro in Brüssel.
Mitglieder

Mit rund 3.700 Pflegediensten, die ca. 170.000 Patienten betreuen, und 3.800 stationären Pflegeeinrichtungen mit etwa 250.000 Plätzen vertritt der bpa mehr als jede vierte Pflegeeinrichtung bundesweit.

Die Mehrzahl der Mitglieder sind typische mittelständische Unternehmen, ob als Pflegedienst mit 10 Mitarbeitern oder als Pflegeheim mit 70 Plätzen. Als anerkannter Träger des Freiwilligen Sozialen Jahres (FSJ), einem Angebot der außerschulischen Jugendbildung, kann der bpa in den meisten Bundesländern vielen jungen Menschen ein soziales Bildungs- und Orientierungsjahr anbieten.

Mitgliedschaften in anderen Organisationen: Bundesverband der Dienstleistungswirtschaft (BDWi), Kuratorium Deutsche Altershilfe (KDA), Deutscher Verein für öffentliche und private Fürsorge (DV), European Confederationof Care Home Organisations (E.C.H.O.).

Facts about the bpa
The Federal Association of Private Social Service e. V. (bpa) forms with more than 7,500 active member institutions, the largest advocacy of private providers of social services in Germany. Outpatient facilities and (partially) inpatient care, the disabled and the Child and Youth Services in private ownership are organized in the bpa.

The members of the bpa are responsible for 230,000 jobs and about 17,700 training places. The invested capital is about 18.2 billion euros.

Association history
The bpa was founded in 1964 and has established his federal office in Berlin.
