About Donbosco Tiruchy 2017-2018
We, the Salesians of Don Bosco, formally known as the Society of St Francis of Sales, are recognised in the Church as a clerical religious institute of pontifical right, "dedicated to apostolic works". We are a Religious Congregation of men devoted to apostolic and missionary activity and to the many different works inspired by Christian charity, but especially the service of young people, in particular those who are poorer and disadvantaged.
The Province of Annai Velankanni was canonically erected on 5 August 1999. As of now, it comprises of 22 civil districts in the southern part of the state of Tamilnadu. Territorially, there are 12 Latin dioceses and they are Coimbatore, Dindigul, Kottar, Kuzhithurai, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Palayamkottai, Salem, Sivagangai, Thanjavur, Tiruchirapalli and Tuticorin. The Latin diocese of Trivandrum has few presences in the state of Tamilnadu which are located within the territory of the Province. There are three dioceses belonging to the Syrian Rite; two of Malabar and one of Malankara.
Don Bosco Media is a centre for art, media, and communication in the Salesian Province of Trichy in Tamil Nadu. In a short span of time, it has emerged as one of the leading media centers in Tamil Nadu with the motto; ‘communicate to educate, empower, employ and entertain’. The centre is registered as a society under Tamil Nadu registration Act 1975.

Don Bosco Institute of Information & Communication Excellence (DBIICE) is an educational wing of Don Bosco Media. More than 500 students have passed out of this Institute in the past few years. We offer Short term and Long term courses in Multimedia, 2D Animation, Photography, Sound Engineering, Web designing and Mobile App Development.
Don Bosco Media is the production department. We produce documentaries and short films on social, cultural, educational and religious themes. We also produce promotional ads, films, short films, TV programs portfolio, albums, paintings, event management, product shoot, virtual gallery, choreography, make-up, brochures, books, music, jingles, marketing, and photography.
Alaihal (’sound waves in tamil’), Media Clubs are designed to develop in young minds greater awareness, analysis and participation in media. There are 20 clubs with 20 members each right now and more clubs are being formed in various schools and colleges in South Tamilnadu.
Alaihal Media Books is the publication wing of the society. Though many books have been published in the past, the society has published more than 15 books in the past two years with ISBN. We concentrate specially on Media Education.
