Cultural route The Traces of Modernism
The Traces of Modernism - International cultural and discovery route in the tracks of museum and cultural heritage of southern Moravia and north-eastern Austria of the first half of the 20th century aims to support tourism, spread awareness of the cultural identity of Central Europe and promote meetings among the region’s inhabitants as well as mutual understanding, through the involvement of significant house museums.
The cultural route will guide you to places connected with lives of the leading figures of European culture in the first half of the 20th century setting trends for the development of modernism. The individual stops introduce the artists’ work; at the same time, they provide an insight into their private lives and enable visitors to get acquainted with places where these famous people lived and worked. For example Villa Tugendhat as a masterpiece of famous architect Mies Van Der Rohe settled in Brno, Czech Republic.
