ClockPlus DayDream for Android
Almost Perfect ! .. I've given 5 stars anyway as it was just what I was looking for. The "Always On" on the S7 is great but will not auto landscape when charging (grrr), but this is a perfect alternative that DOES go landscape. The reason it is "almost" perfect is cause I' like to be able to turn off the date, or at least have it non bold/configurable/same as alarm etc. - its just that everything looks off centre when you have an alarm showing too (even just show alarm under date - then all centred and in line - then happy days) Please please update for my OCD :-)
Works as expected, wish it could display when the screen is forced off but I think its an andriod os issue because other daydream settings perform the same way.
Clock Plus served me well over many Android versions after Android inexplicably dropped their own clock screen saver. But now that I have a Samsung 8+, the "always on" feature provides a clock, with more color choices. Clock Plus leaves a white bar at the top and bottom of the screen, not having been customized for the S8 screen. Since Clock Plus apparently has not had an update on almost three years, I don't anticipate that happening. . So, regretfully, I am uninstalling Clock Plus. It served me well, but it is time to move on.
This app was awesome for my HTC M8 for the last 3 years. I use this as my nightstand clock. I recently upgraded to the Galaxy S8 and unfortunatly it's no longer compatible as the screen doesn't fully black out. Strips of My home screen shows through about a 1/4 inch on the top and bottom. Please please please update to fit larger screens!
I like the app, only one issue. I keep getting this message when it kicks in: "Swipe down from the top to exit full screen" "OK" I'm sure it is a Android 4.4.4 message, for when an app goes into full screen. I have looked, but haven't found any way to disable the full screen swipe to exit overlay that keep coming up.
Been using a long time on my gs5. Dimmed at night on wireless charger. I guess over time the heat and dim screen has caused the pwm that controls the brightness to start failing not the apps fault but a heads up to people with older phones like mine.
Horrible default font style though with bold hours. Display size could do with being scalable and with a choice of colours, we all like options! But overall ok. Not really better than the default clock DD setting though and you can't see the alarm time in grey when the brightness is dim.
The landscape orientation refuses to work correctly on LG G4. Does not rotate, and with the force option enabled the phone keeps waking up every few minutes. Worked Perfect on Nexus 5. Had to lower to 4 stars as I don't use it anymore.
Excellent, thanks very much. The daydream function in Android is a great feature, but this app actually makes it useful. As was said by another reviewer, the experimental "Force automatic orientation" feature fixes the inability of Daydream to move to landscape mode on my Nexus 5 - don't know why Google can't make that happen. Thanks to the developer for his work.
I like this clock. It is very easy to use. I only wish it had a feature that would allow me to cancel the next alarm without going into the clock settings and completely turning off the recurring alarm. Many mornings, I wake before the alarm and I have to wait until the alarm sounds to turn it off. Alternatively, i have to go into settings to turn off the recurring alarm completely then reset the alarm once the alarm set time passes.
This day dream app in my Samsung A7 model is appearing in screen only when it is in charging mode. But when docked, I never seen this day dream clock even if the settings choosen as "Show this When Docked Only".
But.... Either too bright or too dim. For such a wide range of brightness controls, there really is no sweet spot like the original clock version. Weird, and therefore no perfect rating. 2 stars for battery percentage.
But i hate sliders. Just adjusting the brightness takes time because once i lift my finger, the slide invariably moves so i end up with either 79 or 81.
Makes HTC ONE run hot in only 10 minutes, not willing to risk several hours. I've experienced that with the default DAYDREAM. Not worth the risk of overheating.
I tried using it as an alarm clock with my dock but I woke up in the middle of the night to find it turned off. I don't think its the app, its probably just my phone, but if you are planning on using this as a clock it won't work. Other than that its a great app.

I really like this, but there needs to be a setting to allow different brightness for daytime vs nighttime based on current system time. I let it daydream both at the office and at night and should not have to manually adjust brightness manually twice a day. Just a suggestion. Thanks for an otherwise great app.
I have used this app on Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S6 using a wired charger without any problem and its great. I have started using wireless charging on my S6 and it just won't work as daydream function, other daydream options will work but not ClockPlus app. It appears to be an incompatability with wireless charging. If you don't use wireless charging it works in daydream mode ok.
Dear developers. I used to use this app on my old phone but I can't get it to turn on on my new S6 edge. I want it to active when I put phone phone on the charger for the night. I cant find the settings on this phone. Under settings>display I don't have a daydream option. If I can't get it to turn on, I will delete the app.
I've used this clock as a daydream for many devices, still do use it on my tablet. But every since the update, it doesn't start on my nexus 6 as a daydream I can open it, and start it from there, but no auto start.
Works Perfectly! This app works exactly as it says it will on my phone using Android 5.1 It is quite intuitive to set up and customize. The large (as in GIANT) clock display is great for those of us with poor eyesight. Congratulations to the engineer, Martin Pelant, for developing an app that is not only useful but functions perfectly.
It appears as if you can change the colors and style, but I'm not able to find anything in settings or?? Wish people who develop apps wouldn't waist peeps time. Thanks, but uninstalling
When phone is unlocked first clock is displaying that's very nice. But it is not automatically done. We have to open the app and it should be always on the top of all apps. That's bad.
Odd behavior in Marshmallow - the clock constantly jumps around the screen. In Lollipop, the clock would move only once per minute.
Audio shuts off when it comes up now. Does not shut off when other daydream widgets activate. Sorry to have to stop using it I loved it!
Not bad. Has two noticeable bugs: 1) Phone won't ever sleep if no lockscreen is set and ClockPlus' force orientation is on 2) Sometimes the navigation bar (the one with the triangle, circle and square) is still visible. If you consider the navbar icons to remaiin static on the screen 8 hours per day, it's quite possible to damage the screen on the long run.
Doesn't really offer much than the stock clock app. Digital clock is still small; no option to make it as big as the screen (landscape mode). No option for fixed position; clock still annoyingly moves around the screen, sometimes even "out of it". The only reason I'll keep it is because it does offer to dim the brightness beyond the stock limit.
Exactly what I have been looking for. The other clock apps I've tried don't change position like a screen saver. So, I risk screen burn. This app is great.
After installing it,i cannot set it to daydream mode. There isnt any function for daydream. Only CLOCKPLUS!! Iam so disappointed!
Nice but a little buggy, sometimes the numbers for the clock only show as blocks. For what it's worth, if it weren't for that bug this app would be almost perfect.
Perfect for charging my z3 up at night so if I wake up in the night I can see the time and if anyone has tried contacting me! One suggestion have you tried the new Sony clock where hours at the top minutes underneath?
This app has an experimental feature that overrides the orientation your phone is in when Daydream mode is activated, and it works FLAWLESSLY!!! Thank You!!! Now I can rotate the Daydream mode to any orientation I want. Still not sure why Google hasn't implemented this themselves.

Thanks for that great app. The Daydream is the best! Auto rotate and brightness adjustment are really great options! Do a pay version with some more stuff and I'll give you my money :) Try having Google Music wake up alarm that would be cool! One issue though, sometimes the system buttons on Nexus 6 stay visible... Very annoying because I must wait and see if they are hidden or not before leaving it there for the night.
Not bad. Work as intended. It has just one bug, though: it keeps the navigation bar (the one with the triangle, circle and square) visible. If you consider the navbar to stay static on the screen 8 hours per day, it's quite possible to damage the screen on the long run.
Is there a way to display the clock while screen is off instead of showing while charging? Like the cclock for good old Nokia symbian?
I like this app a lot, but recently the "1"s have turned into thick rectangles as opposed to actual 1s. Is there a fix for this?
Does what it says on the tin, but could do with more features, such as colour, or transitional effects.
Great app, thank you for the effort. Though, I would preferred you add some additional features and options, like changing size , color, font (especially for small modules and notifications), more dimming, activation/disactivation orbit movement
