Need to delete a couple of thousand duplicate SMSes, but I just encounter 'Error while deleting duplicate messages'.

Fix kitkat support issue. You can not select it as the default messaging app in the settings so kitkat does not allow the app to modify or even read the texts..

But that's a lie. At least it doesn't work.

I love the delete duplicate feature! When I used it, it said I had about 2000 duplicate texts (because handcent sms messed up my messages) and I would've had to otherwise check off each message individually to delete them!

Though the description says it should work on KK but sadly it didn't work on my S4 running KitKat. Hopefully the dev will fix it soon.

The delete duplicates function does not work on kit Kat. This would have been a life saver had it actually worked.

Need help with error on LG G2 kitkat when trying to use delete duplicate SMS function.

Was very excited to hear of the "delete duplicate SMS" feature, but saddened when it did not work. I still recommend the app based on other reviews, but I personally could not get this feature working. Samsung Galaxy S4 running Android 4.4.2.

Accidently restored sms backup twice and was wondering for a solution. It removed 4000+ duplicate sms withing 5 seconds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Amazing..

Got this app from XDA-Forum. Re Installed from Google Play to Rate it. I have suggested this to my fellow android users too. Removed >3000 duplicates.

The single function and reason I downloaded the app, and it didn't work.

Worked great for me! I had restored my text messages from a couple backups and then had over 8,300 duplicate messages. BackupSMS removed them in about 5 minutes!

Not nearly as fast as everyone said it would be. I had about 13000 messages. Way too many, I know. At first the app was stuck at 0/1 then it started working after about 5 minutes. The while process probably took an hour. At least it worked!

The rest of the app works well too, but deleting duplicate messages in one click is absolutely amazing.

The deletion of duplicates is a really nice feature, however, due to the way KitKat handles SMS, the app has an error when trying to delete duplicates now.
