About NCBA CLUSA Mobile App
At its core, NCBA CLUSA is focused on 5 key areas.
1) Protecting the advancement of all cooperatives through advocacy on Capitol Hill
We represent more than 29,000 cooperatives by educating members of Congress and lawmakers on Capitol Hill on issues that are important to cooperatives. We’re also a premier non-governmental organization (NGO), engaged in international development through cooperative principles in Africa, Asian, and Latin America.
Membership Impact:
We worked directly with key members of the appropriation committee on the importance of keeping co-ops in the Rural Cooperative Development Grant, effectively saving $7 – 10 million in government funding for cooperatives.
2) Ensuring NCBA CLUSA is the premier platform for connecting, representing and supporting all U.S. coops through education & training.
When you join NCBA CLUSA, you can learn from each other through webinars or in-person at conferences, develop your co-ops services or your own professional skills with our growing certification program, and take advantage of our turnkey online tool kit solutions.
Membership Impact:
Our first-of-its-kind Community Development Certified Financial Counseling (HERO) fosters cross-sector collaboration at a local level by certifying individuals as community development specialists. Specifically training individuals to detect financial stress in working-class individuals, it mitigates lending risk, creates well-trained staffs and improves trust with your members.
NCBA CLUSA is currently building an online suite of tool-kits that will first feature templates for Marketing and Advocacy. Available to members for co-op month, our Marketing Tool Kit will feature sample Facebook and Twitter postings, press release outlines, and much more – all available to members for free.
3) Developing stable regional networks to encourage the growth of the co-op economy and sovereignty.
Through regional co-op development and support, NCBA CLUSA is partnering with locally-based cooperatives that have already formed small groups or small business associations to become regional Cooperative Business Associations and chapters of NCBA CLUSA.
Membership Impact:
The Austin Cooperative Business Association was the first to take shape and has laid the groundwork for a second CBA chapter in Philadelphia, with interest from 15 more regions around the U.S.
4) Being an international leader in the fields of food security, agricultural development, advancement of women and youth, and growing cooperative business by working with small farmers.
We want you to take advantage of all that is going on, not just at NCBA CLUSA, but in each of the sectors and their related organizations. It’s an opportunity for everybody to get to the next level and be part of the cooperative decade and be part of what’s happening in cooperatives worldwide.
