About Conjugation Japanese

Conjugation Japanese is a small app that helps you gain and practice your Japanese conjugation skills.

Main features:
* 10 important adjective & verb conjugations
* Built-in dictionary with over 3000 words (verbs & adjectives)
* 3 difficulty levels with different goals & hints
* 20 achievements (2 for each conjugation)
* Conjugation info & hints
* Color-coded main screen that highlights problematic conjugations
* Per-conjugation statistics

If you're a beginner or intermediate Japanese learner this app is what you need to take your Japanese to a new level! If you're preparing for JLPT this is the wordlist you want to work with!! If you're interested in mobile e-learning and want to take full advantage of your commute or short breaks during the day, you'll want this app on your phone!!!

You'll go through 3000 most common adjectives & verbs, learn their meanings and how to conjugate them. On later difficulty levels you'll practice and test what you've learned with gradually less hints and tips. All words are written in kanji or kana with furigana if it's available, so basic Japanese reading skills are required. All difficulty levels are available right from the start (through long click on each conjugation), so you can choose to just test your knowledge with no tips or explanations. After a few sessions you can easily identify most problematic conjugations thanks to color coded conjugation panels that change depending on your overall performance for that conjugation (red, yellow, green). If you want to perfect your Japanese even further, you can try an additional challenge of unlocking all available achievements.

It has potential but the lack of one feature ruins it. Feedback. You can watch the correct/incorrect numbers to figure out if you got it right or wrong but even then you don't know what you did wrong or what is right. And 50 questions is way too many for something without instant feedback. Give it instant feedback and infinite testing or short quizzes with like 10 words and give full feedback at the end.

The best and worst thing is the simplicity. I wish I could change the number of items in a quiz, whether the hiragana hints and v1/v5 verb hints and i/na adjective hints appear, use only simple verbs (n5,n4,n3), see what mistakes I made in a quiz. This aside, it's a good app

I am learning how to distinguish na-adj or i-adj and ru-verb or u-verb. It would be better if there is option to turn off or on. For now i should cover it with my hand since i dont want it will give me a clue and spoil me. Ah and one again please tell us the correct one when we choose wrong answer. Please please add the option. Thanks!

I needed something to help drill these confusing conjugations and I didn't expect to find anything as well-suited to the task as this.

Z70%
by Z####:

Good for training and remembering. However, there are mistakes in the conjugation of the potential form, some verbs are given the passive form as its potential form for answer. I would like when I give a wrong answer to be able to know inmediately the right one.

I love being able to boot this up and kill a few minutes practicing here and there. One thing I wish it had is a deconjugation test that combines the ten tests together for further practice. Amazing even without it though.

P70%
by P####:

As it is now, this is rather useless for learning, because it gives very little feedback whether your answere was right (you need to watch the counter) and says nothing about what would have been the right answer.

Z70%
by Z####:

The conjugation practice is only one directional forming conjugations from dictionary form. I suggest a reverse where youre given a completed conjugation and have to choose what form it is. Also should have adjectives.

K70%
by K####:

Very frustrating. It doesn't provide any learning opportunities because if you make a mistake it doesn't explain- it just takes you to the next question.

Z70%
by Z####:

Excellent for practicing verb conjugation - only complaint is that it won't let you see the ones you got wrong. Otherwise it's awesome

S70%
by S####:

If we can browse through the list of the verbs that we want to conjugate, instead of just random

Z70%
by Z####:

I like the app but it keeps crashing after I pick an answer in the quiz.

Z70%
by Z####:

Would give 5 stars if it will give a summary of what was answered wrong.

Q70%

I think the app works great I just hope more forms come out. It doesn't have a lot of the ones that I want to study. But still it is a great app.

Z70%
by Z####:

Wish you could go back and check what you got wrong so you can fix it though.

Z70%
by Z####:

But the layout is not great looking.

Z70%
by Z####:

I like that it helps me remember conjugation categories in a much more efficient manner than 6 semesters have managed to do. I get to see more vocabulary and conjugate it way more than in class.

K70%

But I seriously think it lacks verb classification. There should be an option for JLPT levels to chose from. (Usage lists are cool too. Separating daily verbs from the rest or something is helpful. Though jlpt would be most commonly used, I guess). I don't know 90% of the verbs and its a bit frustrating to just blindly conjugate. The lists would be awesome. I would also add at least a one word definition of the verb (no dictionary replacement, just a reference to help out). Thanks :)

K70%
by K####:

Not bad, but can be frustrating. Needs to have option to reset levels easily, sort by jlpt level.

App is good but while kanji are to small to read a quarter of the screen is unused. Rearranging layout would vastly improve.

I had high hopes for this app, but the font is too small and does not take advantage of bigger screens such as tablets. Also, the color scheme is awful and it make it hard to read the text. I cant see anyone with a phone finding this app useful. It's awful on a tablet.

Samsung Galaxy s6 edge. I hope issues can be fixed. As I recall it was good in a previous version or on a previous phone

One of my favorite things about this app is that while it does use the proper linguistics terms for verb forms (causative, passive, etc) it also explains what each one is used for and frequently gives examples of how in the description. That makes it much easier to learn. The only thing I would change about this app is to add more tenses for practice. For example, while I know that conjugating into the -i form allows me to make the polite -masu form of the verb, it would help to skip the middle step.

X70%
by X####:

Great app, but very simple in design. I would rate 5*s if the correct answer was displayed after I answered a question incorrectly, instead of just moving on to the next question. It would be awesome to be able to play a timed trial mode. It would be great if Pronunciation examples were included for every question. Other than that great app.

perfect revision aid, crashes too often though

Excellent study aids that addresses one of the more simple, essential and frustratingly hard to master aspects of Japanese. #twinkles up#

Love the app. But its really difficult to learn all the verbs at once. I suggest making an option that allows you to create lists of verbs you want to practice, so you can learn the basic most common verbs and adjectives first and the slowly progress toward the advanced ones. Thanks

Most useful app for Japanese ever! Once you get past the easy-smeezy phrases/greetings, it's tough to transition to conjugation. Thanks! More apps please! :-) I'll pay!

Seems like it will be fairly useful but wish it could be saved to SD.
