Watchdog Task Manager Lite for Android
I used to use a task killer thinking it would improve my battery life. Then I saw this app and decided to try it out. It actually improved my battery life simply because it wasn't constantly killing all my background apps. And if you use the widget that comes with this app it will help you know when you should manually kill any apps.
It says I'm using 2,410% of my battery, when it's just sitting there idling and just made the weirdest noise of 20 notifications going off. I think this app just went full retard. I'm done for now. I loved this app in the past, but it's disappointing me right now.
This is nice. It tells me when stuff is using CPU unnecessarily (which also means using battery). It actually doesn't often give me warnings, but over time I have noticed consistent habitually poorly made applications. I would definitely recommend this, and am on my way to get the pro/donation version simply to support the development of this tool.
This is an amazing app. It shows you how much memory your apps are actually using and alerts you when they've been on too long so then you can kill them. Way better for your phone than a task killer
Worked well until I got a new phone running Marshmallow. Now only shows itself. Is this app still supported by it's creator? Perhaps not. Sad day, it worked very well with Lollipop.
This may be a really good app for a phone connected to Cellular service. But for a wifi only Lollipop tablet, this may be a bit too minimalistic as it doesn't give much information at all but does use RAM memory. On a phone, this monitors systems overloads.
Would be great if you could see more about an app and when it's misbehaving via some sort of timeline. Showing how many in the alerts view would also be useful, instead of going into each one. Also would be great to share the offending app name to other apps or at the very least, copy the detail so it can be searched via Google etc. Of these features were added into the paid version, I'd buy it!
Did you know apps that "kill" running apps or free memory can be hazardous to your phone and are not necessary due to today's technology? Watchdog is the best and is free! I do not work for them, but in all seriousness would pay $19.95 for this if it was for sale. Very easy to use and foolproof. It is one app, besides antivirus that you MUST have.
The app is really good. It helped me to track which app is making old pH (Samsung Galaxy sduos 7562) lag.turn out it was mostly because android system. This app can be better if it can provide more info of ram usage like cache & all. Also it would be great if the app can be used for a rooted pH to kill even the system process. Right now I'm facing a new problem that WhatsApp & true caller are in system process category how to changed that ?
LG Spectrum is a nice phone but has a pre-loaded super snooper, DLG I think it is, that takes over & doesn't stop 'til the battery burns down. Watchdog catches it & gives me a chance to kill it & any other misbehaving burdens on the phone. One of the most valuable apps beside mail, media, good browser, security & battery mgmnt. Nicely done, Watchdog!
Been using this for a month now, before I installed this my phone always ran super slow and I had problems opening any apps. First day my phone ran super fast, apps only took like a sec to open. I love playing games, without watchdog I wouldn't get to play angry birds or listen to music. I recomend this program to anyone who uses their phone several hours a day everyday.

Used on an Incredible 2 phone and Galaxy Tab 7 Plus. Works great on both. As soon as an app goes over threshold it will alert you so you can kill it before you're Barry drains. Mine does not go off very often but this is a helpful little app.
This skip us a great way to help with extending battery life and increasing responsiveness. It focuses on specific apps that use too much processing power or memory instead of the "shotgun" approach by other app killers. If you're having trouble with other app killers, definitely give this one a shot!

This is a very good monitor, alerting me to apps that are resource hogs. There are some system apps, that by their general nature, will utilize high amounts of CPU time occasionally. Whitelist these apps, they can be things like "Google Search" and certain antivirus programs (while scanning).
Well after having installed virtually every app management application, I read up on weather or not they are a beneficial addition to use. And the answer is NO they are not, however this little beauty comes highly recommend by myself and others who know the truth, so to speak.Superb app manager, easy to use with virtually no congratulation on your behalf. My Phone is running beautifully, thank you lads, job well done to say the least.
Very accurate and effective. Works exactly as promised. It's a mistake to keep killing the so-called resource hoarding apps .They'll start up again next time depleting the battery even further if you use any of the boosters or "battery savers" available. All you need is Watchdog and a reliable system that freezes up only the redundant unnecessary apps instead to keep your phone in tip top shape.

as my notice, after used many task killers. after killing tasks u may see more RAM availble but it doesn't mean speed up cuz many tasks start to consume RAM again. watchdog's better ,smoother eventhough u might see less RAM available but it work. (i prefer "aggresive" in setting)
Been using it about a week. No alerts indicating I have misbehaving apps, but my phone's been acting fine, so that's not surprising. Thus far I would recommend this app to anyone. Will change my rating if that changes.
My galaxy note 3 was overheating and I couldn't figure out why. This app helped me figure out which apps were messing with my phone and now my phone no longer overheats. That alone was worth it. Keep up the good work.
It definitely helps your battery last longer by alerting you when an app takes up too much CPU power. It also let's you kill any single app instead of all of them at once. However lately, Watchdog itself has been taking up a lot of CPU power, almost 40%... which it never did before, it used to run around 7%. That's the only downside to this app.
I found the few apps that were eating up my cpu. Much better than any task manager I've had, phone is running much faster and smoother.(HTC Inspire)
Does as it says and it has not crashed once as others have made comments on previous posts. Could be the update not sure but 2weeks in and all good. Has found an app misbehaving and was why I installed as battery was being sapped. Pleased!
So far no problems! Monitors CPU usage and lets you limit CPU usage per app. It also doesn't make my phone bug out like three other task killers do. Definitely the best out there.
I tried a bunch of task killers on the advice of others, but just wated time killing apps which wait in the background for good reason. This one quietly monitors and reports on apps which may be causing trouble, allowing them to be halted. No fuss; just install and check its report now and then. Superb for a frebie - thanks guys.
My phone has been draining battery fast. I put in a freshly charged battery. Locked phone and laid down. 14 hours later I check on phone. Only use was laying on desk on silent.battery monitor shows watchdog consumed 54 percent battery, phone standby 9%, Android os 8% and other items below 6%. This has to go.
I've got a few different diagnostics tools on my phone, but this is the one that pinpointed the reason why my CPU was overworked. Thanks. Oh and BTW, I've put my money where my mouth is and bought the full version. Well worth a couple of quid.
This is a great app. I usually open a lot of tabs across multiple browsers. This app notifies me if the browsers are ysing too much cpu when I'm not actually using them, and this means that I can save battery power that would actually be wasted on cpu cycles for tasks that are not needed.
Super easy to use. Took off my old task killer and started using this and now I can go almost 2 days with no charge on a 2+yr old Note 2. And it's FREE!! can't thank you enough for the low permissions too! Bonus!
Won't open. Immediately closes. Using GO launcher with Cyanogenmod 13, not sure if that's the problem. Since it worked with Launcher3 on Cyamogenmod 12 just fine. So useless on updated phone at the moment. Hopefully this gets fixed.
My phone heats up real hot and battery gets drained even while charging, so I installed watchdog as it was recommended to me by various source, and boy did that do the trick.
Most of the free apps act up and this thing lets me know right away. Word w/ friends and apps like that kill my battery so as soon as I'm done using it I kill the app. I love this app and I download it on all of my friends phones for them.
This app actually tells how much CPU another app is consuming. So you can monitor the apps consuming the most CPU, to speed your device up. Regular task killers actually harm your device. Get Watch Dog, and never go back!
Thank you so much for alerting me about those abusive apps. Like those bolt on apps that misbehave all the time. Overheating my CPU ,killing my battery, and steal phone storage. So all developers on watch dog get an extra 5 stars :-) :-) :-)
Really does save battery and improve performance. Killing apps that will automatically restart is futile and the auto-restart pulls more battery and more CPU. I only use a task killer right after restarting my phone to kill the apps in the start up folder.
No matter how many times I open watchdog, it crash. You can try a zillions time but it will imminently crash on my s3 CM Cm11 M8 snapshot Android 4.4.4. The dev need to fix this ASAP.
My only gripe is that the settings menu disappears as soon as it pops up. When you tap on the 3 dots, the settings come up from the bottom of the screen, but disappears before you can select anything. It doesn't matter if you double tap, or press and hold; there's no way to get the menu to stay. I'm not sure if this was on purpose.

The end user agreement was absolutely awesome until i read the final 4 points, number 9 through 12, essentially nullifying any and all (8) of the awesome points that came before them... All of them which seemed to be in favor of the user, (me/you). As if they were childishly keeping their fingers crossed whilst making all prior promises... Please read carefully for yourself to fully understand what I mean.
