Originally titled “Weigenlied”, this song is the most popular tune you’ll find in baby mobiles or hear when a cartoon character gets knocked on the head. The tune was originally written for Bertha Faber, a young mother from Germany who wanted a new song to sing to her first newborn child.
Rock-a-bye Baby (bedtime meditation)
Bough breaks and cradles plunging from trees seem a little scary to sing about to a child, but it’s still one of the most famous lullabies around the world. There are a few different theories about the origin of this song. One is that it was written by English immigrants to America upon seeing Native American women rocking their babies in birch-bark cradles suspended from tree branches. Another theory is that it was written in the late 1700s about a family that lived in a tree and their children slept in hollowed out boughs. Regardless of its origins the words first appeared in Mother Goose’s Melody in 1765.

Excellent app. Just what I wanted for soothing bedtome music for baby. I saw some reviews which said you can't use your phone while it's playing - not true! I just push home button and it plays while I browse Internet and I even answered a call while it played.. that was interesting.. haha

I love this app. When my son was about a month or so he would hate being in the car seat and I downloaded lullaby apps and nothing seemed to work. then I downloaded this app and he took a quick liking to it. He also liked looking at the picture on the screen. He's now 1 year and a half and this app still works in calming and putting him to sleep. It's very useful and soothing.

Definetly 5 Stars!!! It's very comforting music easy listening and it helps my 4yr old grandson and 2yr old granddaughter go to sleep quickly I love it! I usually fall asleep too lol thx. And no commercials to interrupt their dreams.
