iAquaLink for Android
This review doesn't have a "4.5" rating so I gave it a 4. Mostly, it's a good app and it spoils you quickly. I'd like a "frequently used controls" or favorites menu at the top level so I wouldn't have to remember where some lower level controls are at. For example, with unpredictable rain this summer, I've had to change the chlorinator often to give it a 24 hour boost but not often enough to not have to search it out.
This app works perfectly for our iAqualink system. I did make sure that I have a wireless access point very close to the antenna, to guarantee good results. That, to me, is just part of a wireless system. We use it on Android and iOS phones and it works as it should. I don't know where all the bad reviews are coming from?
iQ is an oxymoron on the P965iQ that this app is for. Has 0 for IQ. Give you few very simplistic controls. You would think that with the app one could actually set some functions on the cleaner controller. Being able to change cycle timer would be a really great option. Since that can't be done returned the P965iQ and uninstalling app. The WiFi radio on the controller was horrible had to get a range extender so it would work. Overall extremely disappointed with the app capabilities and the P965iQ.
This app use to work fine for us. Really simple, however ever since the new interface my android phone will not show my system after logging in. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, however still no system. Funny thing is...my system is present via the app on my iPad. This has been an ongoing problem.
Worked for a while but now pump turns on, on its own. Started multiple times this morning. I restarted and changed the invite code to be sure no one had it also checked my schedules and they are all off and it starts at a different time.
This went from one of the best apps to the worst. It used to pull up your system automatically. Now you have to actually click on your pool every time you open the app. On the One Touch Screen it is very finicky and does not want to click on whatever you touch. It changes screens and is very confusing. It used to be good now it is terrible. Also on the web application when you want to change settings or devices or change the speed on your VSP it freezes up and has lots of issues. I wish they would change it back to the way it was. Used to be good now it's terrible.
Works great. You can crank up the hot tub while your out and it's ready to go when you get home. Lost one stare because you can't adjust the temp from the app. Can only do that from the pda
This app is garbage. Any time I want to add/ edit anything I have to manually connect it back to the network. Otherwise it keeps giving me "connection error". Don't even bother with it.
Works well all of the time upon start up. Can't say the same when turning off, and yes, I'm aware there are cycles that need to be preformed. Would be nice to have a 1, 2, 4 hour timer.
It doesn't work on android at all. It used to work. Can't connect or control pool at all. The different tabs just show a blank screen. The web link just tries to connect endlessly with no result. Please fix... this used to be a great app when it worked properly.
Did work great now its complete garbage, i have to use the old slow PDA remote now because half the time this app doesn't even work anymore. If its not broken dont fix it!
Really great robot and app. Deducting stars because there's no push notification visible in the Android system (unless you think to check the iAquaLink app itself every day "just in case") if the robot goes into error state and stops working, so you don't know unless you check the app or the pool daily. Please add system notifications that pop up within Android itself, at the top of the phone by the clock, in the taskbar.
Big improvement over trying to program things from the panel. Only other thing I'd like to see is a notification system or an API to let me trigger Wink or IFTTT actions when things cycle on or off, or if temperature exceeds a threshold...or maybe "Alexa, turn on the hot tub"...
The app is good, the use of wifi to connect is not reliable, but environment is always an issue with these things. Moved wireless access point to withing 15 feet of base so we could get more reliable connection. Would love to hard wire this with a cat5! I use this device literally every day I am home. Would love for there to be an app for the Samsung Gear S3.
Good app. Knocked off a star for not being able to choose red for the pool lights. Super irritating, it's my favorite color.
Nice app. Too many sub menus to get to control certain things. Also have issues that it doesn't set speeds for a variable speed pump using freeze protection but in general its okay.
Doesn't work on Android at all. Uninstalled and tried again several times. Reset the device. Only works on desktop. Completely defeats the purpose. Can't change or add any schedules. Glitch. Have excellent wifi signal while trying. Nothing changes. It does the exact same thing every time. Worst yet I am a professional pool service technician and still can't get it to work.. Talked to customer support and they said their has been no other complaints.
I like to give you four or five star but I am not available to change my LED light colors I don't know why 4 weeks ago I had no problem as soon I did the latest update i have no option for light colors maybe you can tell me why. This year as soon I started using pool and my solar heater . I like to stop my pump I'm getting this kind of message (pump will remain on during heater cool down ) pump will run on for few more minutes
Love being able to check pool temps and data and turn on pump and lights etc with my cell phone DON'T HAVE TO GET OUT OF THE POOL! Also can do this from hundreds of miles away.
Won't actually control anything. It won't connect to pool equipment, it just times out. It used to work great, but after the May update, it's useless now.
Great app but i have problems selecting the pool light option on the devices tab. It almost always goes back to the home tab. Using galaxy s8.
Not sure why you can't select 'red' color filter... Overall there are some UX problems that make the app feel a little unfriendly
Would be 5 stars if you make an improvment. Can you add a place to put a timeout timer for the Spa/Pool heaters? I always freaking forget to turn off the heater...costs me $$
Kinda ok, but needs an update. Add ability to add a schedule but allow it to be enabled/disabled. I have the pump run 4-8am and my cleaner 5-7am. But say I want to swim tomorrow. Let me click a button to turn on my "get ready to swim" schedule that changes the pump to 4am-7pm and enables my heater. And please, via the app, not the "web." It's 2017, you can make the app the everything. ---------------------Just saw pentair's automation setup. Wow, you guys need to up your game asap.
Purchased IQ20-RS upgrade kit and installed myself. Saved $400 "labor" quote. Installed Aqualink software so far so good...working great. Would have preferred device had local web service so would'nt have to connect to big brother Jandy..as long as they don't charge for the connection control software...I'm ok. If they ever try to monitize I will unplug and go to different brand.
This app has worked perfectly the last year-and-a-half without a single glitch I've never had a computer work so well and it's out in the elements in a sealed box this is one of the best things I've ever done to my pool
This app would be perfect if it can display and control the rpm speed of the pump and send you notifications on your phone if the spa temp reaches your set temp. So far you can only control the very basic functions through your phone. Any advanced functions, you must access from the front panel.
It works great it is lightweight fully-featured it doesn't crash and works well on all Android devices which is hard for most third-party applications to say it also boasts a very easy to use intuitive graphical interface and it's very quick to load and so far I've never had it fail you can control almost everything about your pool turning on the heater turning up the temperature down the temperature turn on your spa change your lights 12 different colors pretty much you can automate everything and do it from your phone which is way better than just having to use the old school rubber button remote
This is a really nice app and system. The one improvement I could suggest is the ability to control it locally when WiFi is working but the internet connection is down - using the app, not the panel.
When on the web the menu button and home button don't work, running on a Galaxy Tab S2 8.0" Android 7.0
We have no issues so far so I do hope it stays that way. Very easy to use.
Enjoy it very much...just wish there were a solid red light. There's a red in the patriotic setting, seems like they could adjust the app to get just the red. There's blue and white...????
Total and complete garbage cannot even connect to Android device.
Kinda complicated with my system. But eventually worked as expected. Thanks
I love the app just wish there was a better way to control the pool colors better then turn off turn on turn off then on lol
Great app. I love the convenience of starting the spa while I'm on my way home! Buy the equipment, get the app. You'll be happy you did.
Own a pool store, so troubleshooting was not a problem. Best automation system in the industry. Just name your auxiliary correctly and no confusion
It's convenient to be able to control the pool remotely. But the app sends you to a webpage for some setup stuff. It would be nice to do everything thru the app.
Set temperature ui is difficult to use.

Upgraded from the original setup with a PDA remote. This is fantastic. I also recently installed a Heliocol solar system and the Aqualink automatically detected the system and everything just works. I can control the solar, my heat pump, view temps, and turn on anything from my Nexus 4 phone. Super happy. So convenient being at work being able to check on my pool. Thanks. *update. New update has broken the app. It says green but I can't control anything.
