About ZipGrade
Grade multiple choice tests, quizzes, and assessments instantly in the classroom by using your Android device's camera as a grading scanner. ZipGrade is a grading app that makes grading effortless while capturing, storing, and reporting with useful data on assessments. No need to wait for the Scantron machine or sheetfed scanner to grade papers quickly.
Students receive immediate feedback and can see their score on a test as soon as they're done. Teachers can have all of their multiple-choice grading done before the next class starts. Based on teacher feedback over the last year, numerous options are available to customize ZipGrade to meet different classroom needs.

Quick Start:
1. Select from multiple answer sheet forms and sizes at ZipGrade.com. Download and print as many copies as you wish.
2. Within the ZipGrade app, press 'New Quiz'
3. Press 'Edit 'Key'. Enter your answer key or scan an answer sheet acting as a key
4. Press 'Scan Papers' to start scanning papers:
* Hold paper on flat surface and align the 4 corner squares in the 4 viewfinders.
* ZipGrade will automatically focus and identify when paper is readable.
* The app will vibrate when paper is graded and provide an instant summary (with links for more detail).
* No buttons to push, leaving your other hand free to turn to the next paper.
5. Review:
* View actual images of scanned papers and make any manual corrections (ie student's crossout out inked circles) in 'Review Papers'
* Get a view of how the entire class did in 'Item Analysis'. Item Analysis includes a drill-through to see alternative answers and which students gave those answers.
* Export results as PDF reports (to print and hand back or post) or CSV files to upload to your gradebook.

I like the ability to do question mapping, but it's so cumbersome to input all the information. Instead of the input being mapped to the primary (1 maps to primary #) it should map to the alternate key (1 maps to alt. key #) since that is how Exam View prints the Version Map.

Looks like it's a Very Good App. After trial I decided to buy 1 yr subscription. I guess it will be very helpful. I hope it will still evolve into a much better app for teachers. Right now I already have suggestions in mind.

It's a very good grading app I've ever used but after a new update, a bright light detector makes me feel so annoying and I have to wait for a long time between grading each paper. I hope you can fix this issue in the future update. For now I roll back to the old 2.02.125 version without a bright light detector and faster scanning.

I have been using this app for over a year. I have been very pleased with its performance and features. Originally, I used the iOS version. After moving to Android this summer, it is clear that this version is buggy and inferior. The bugs are so obvious and annoying that I am considering moving to an iPad to grade.

This app can be useful but unfortunately it takes up space on my internal storage and cannot be moved to external storage. As a consequence, I must uninstall.

You will fall in love with this app as a teacher. Grade 20, 50 or 100 MCQ'S in a sec with almost perfect results. It allows you to correct any errors in scans. I tally the answers with students to reassure its 100% accurate. Scanned papers are always on your device and in cloud unlike scantron machine.

The camera is upside down because of known manufacturing issues on the Nexus 5. Needs to be fixed by the app developers. Can't use app until it's fixed.

I Love Free Apps, but I GLADLY PAY the small yearly price because I have received PHENOMENAL Benefits from ZipGrade in a Full Schoolyear of Usage. A "MUST HAVE" App for me!

I love it... The item analysis is very helpful for Mr determining what my overall classes struggled in.... A bit of advice.... Something that's helped me is..... Printing the 50 questions answer sheet and getting an external ID for all my students.... The next thing I do it put them in page protectors (side note* on the other side I put a plickers card to make it work for either or) after doing that I print out a small sheet of paper with their class number and place it inside the page protector and them staple it in.... My kids can then put their ID number on the form. What else helps is all my kids have class number so every number four gets the same card (and their plickers card on the other side also has their class number) hope this helps someone.... Once I set it up it became two very easy ways to grade, analyze data and keep thing neat... Working smarter not harder....

As a teacher that uses quick formative assessments, zip grade has saved me a ridiculous amount of time when it comes to data crunching and grading. I honestly feel pretty stupid for not using a system like this in my previous year. The app comes with a trial so you can give it a shot and get about 100 scans in to decide. Print off halfsheet answer pages, give a test (I do 8-10 questions on the 20 question template), and have kids come up to you to scan it and instantly grade it.

ZipGrade has always been the best app to score my student's works,the customization of the answer sheet is a great feature,i love it. I believe ZipGrade can be developed more. ZipGrade also gave me great support when i had technical problems. Nice work John! Two thumbs up for you!!
