My Tracks for Android
Used to be ok about 5 years ago but now has become to unreliable to use. I have had it look like it has turned off during use only to find an entry later on. UNINSTALLED
I love this app, and I use it to record trips I take in the car. It works great for that. Only problem is that a few months ago it stopped exporting gpx files to either Google Drive or my device. I like to import them into Microsoft Map Point to save them in a way I can use on the computer. Is there a fix for that? Don't know of anything that changed on my phone. Please help! I really want to keep using his app!
Consistently fails to navigate. Awkward method for entering waypoints (have to drag Map under pointer) and can't navigate via them anyway. Maps not as detailed as other OSM offerings
The app is still in record mode, I have to stop it first then when I go to look at the track, there is no data and it says it was only a few seconds long. Also when I got the app it didn't have this issue so the issue is from a relatively new patch
Better than Google's former my tracks. A top 10 must have. I wish I could import info directly to Google maps but that's on Google's end, maybe in the future
Found error while take photo, show "unfortunately camera has stopped" Pls solve the error.
It has consistently failed to record my hikes. I have no use for this app if it doesn't record my tracks.
Why does it need to access my photos?
Latest update never installs
Good to know how you drove after completing your travel
Good app
I needed a nice simple application to tell me where I had been and how to get back home. This is it! It works absolutely perfectly. The additional information it provides plus the ability to tag pictures to it is just icing on the cake. This is a very well done application without undue complications. I've never posted a review before, but I just felt I had to in this case.
When Google deprecated their . MY tracms, I was sad. No other app met my needs. However, this app fits the bill and is getting better all the time
Thank you for your hard work. I have some questions on the ability to export the route into a excel format or something that would give me written direction for each route. Any help would be greatly appreciated I am very new to your app and want to utilize it to the best of my ability
Good app. What is the import function for? I am hoping to use it to import and overlay a KMZ file, but it does not seem to work for that purpose.
Most amazing application I have come across in a while. Nicely done.
Very good app for tracking your route. Pictures can be embedded.
May be better if it can offline maps
Hi Daniel, I love the app! The ability to associate photos with the GPS locations are fantastic! The trail export is great too! Thanks for the wonderful app! Now a few things I encountered. I have my foreground and background time intervals both set to 1s, but the recording accuracy dropped significantly after about one and half hours when I walked back on the same trail, to the point that it started to draw straight lines connected to straight lines (BTW, my distance interval is turned off). The other t
I love My Tracks. Thank you Daniel.. I do have one question. The first time I used the app, it worked beautifully. I ride a mule and it tracked and downloaded fine. The 2nd time, it was very straight lined and not accurate. Am I doing something wrong? It won't allow me to reply, so I'll write here. both tracks were in the same location, 2 weeks apart. If you tell me how to attach them or send them, I will. I really like the app but can't use it if it isn't accurate. My phone's GPS is set for high accuracy. Thanks for answering.
Love the App. Thanks Daniel! I'd say it's even easier to use than the original Google My Tracks. That said, I have a specific problem: I took a few photos while I was recording a route. But when I view the route under 'Route & Photos' - they don't show on the route (although the photos are definitely stored on my phone) I exported the route as a KML file to Google Drive, then uploaded it to Google Earth and it worked fine... but no photos :( I also tried 'Sync to Google Drive' under Settings, but the only options is: 'Only tracks, no photos'
I use to use this App all the time with my old phone. It was great and very accurate. Now with the newest app on newer LG phone, it over inflates the distance greatly. I have reinstalled the app several times with same results. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXI will try device only location option. Currently I do get a zig zag track. Thank you for your response. I will let you know how it works.
Since the last update (applied to my phone in November), the sync to Google drive hasn't worked, just endlessly says 'syncing track 1/x' where x is the number of recordings since the update. Also, the tracks prior to this update no longer show up in the app, but are still in Google drive. Frustrating. Contact from the developer was unhelpful, blaming my device. In the end, decided to go to Google Fit instead. Unfortunate, but no choice as have lost lots of data, with no way to restore.
My email sync just fine and so does any other internet required app. This app refuses to sync to my Google Drive. Used to work just fine I am up to 9 tracks that refuse to sync. Please let me know what I need to do there's no update for the app so if I uninstall it and reinstall it I'm not going to lose all my tracks?
I loved this app on other phones, now I have the moto x play I can't open the app at all. I have tried reinstalling it and still no luck. Is there anything I can do? I just started skiing again after 3 years from a knee injury and want to record my runs again. Please help! Thanks!
I know there used to be a red dot to indicate start recording. That was in the earlier versions a couple of years ago. Now they changed that red dot to a triangle pointing to the right. It is confusing because the triangle is a symbol for playback not record. What are the developers thinking?
your update deleted ALL OF MY TRACKS! done w/ this app now. EDIT: really? then how do you explain the 50 sync'd tracks in my Google docs that "use" to be in your app before your last update that is now empty and has no tracks? And the 1 new track it does have it endlessly tries to sync each time I open the app now. Before update no problems, now problems. EDIT: previous updates are irrelevant to this last update. I'll ask again how are the tracks removed from the app & still in my Google account? Explain.
Love this app but it seems since I paid for the add removal??, it now keeps stopping the recording. It does continue when I open the app again, with a straight line between when it stopped to when I open the app to view my route. I am using it on a S7 edge. I can tell from the notification screen when it stops as the my tracks running notification disappears.
My only gripe is I can't figure out how to gps the route again so I can enjoy it all over. No option to replay or follow the same route. Maybe export route to Google maps somehow? The list button shows the route but doesn't gps it. I use this for riding a motorcycle so I can't look at it while riding. A turn by turn gps of the same route would be ideal.
Used to work very well. It now constantly just stops or records nothing at all. No error. App remains open but will either have just a tiny bit of the rout recorded or nothing at all.
I have used this app before and it was great then, I thought I needed it's services again so downloaded it only to be disappointed. I actually wanted to send a feedback not a review but was not able to do so in the in app feedback option so had post it here. The feedback is that the map region is plain, I can't see anything on the map. And the only thing I can see is a tiny blue arrow which usually it's supposed to be my current location and it's spinning and roaming about in the map region. Please fix this
I like how simple it is. The only thing I liked over the pervious my tracks is the voice read out at your set milage. It helped keep pace cycling and hiking. Correction, just saw the voice readout option, can't wait to test it!
I don't appreciate the adds right in my travle travel logs, that is absolutely unacceptable! If you didn't do that, I would still have the app on my phone. I will look for another app that dose not do that.
I was using this app for last 1 year and now I restored my phone and tried to synchronize from Google drive, doing one by one. Can I synch and import with one touch. And only tracks get synchronised, marks are missing or not getting synchronised. Please give advice.
It's a great mapping tool but not able sync different routes to Goggle maps to show if they are overlapping or not... Not able to import the link I was sent from a friend to my maps to see if our routes over lap each other... I have the link in my email, it's saved to my Google drive but comes up as a sheet doc and I'm not able to pull it out of Google drive to maps....please help or I'll have to find something else... Thanks
Hi Daniel, this is a good replacement for the Google app. One question though... I am trying to import several tracks from Google drive, but I only seem to be able to do it one track at a time, which is very time consuming. Is there a way to select multiple tracks to import in one go?
Hi Daniel, I tried several GPS logging applications and I have settled on this one. With it I can use Google Maps in off-line mode and that is very important to me. It has all the features I think I need for walking/hiking. I have several items for your consideration which would make it in my eyes a 5 star application : 1. Remove the Uber ad for a reasonable fee. 2. The "Info" box is too narrow, and as a result the last digit of coordinates is not fully visible. The info box could be accessible from the Main screen to check satellite fix. 3. The Speed Chart is a nice feature, but needs several improvements - a) to be able to export/share it probably as a jpg image (screen shot) b) to be able to see (and export) altitude chart separately (i.e. no speed - speed is not important for hiking in the mountains, and it makes the chart look messy) c) choice of time or distance on the horizontal axis. I am aware that there are websites for analysis of gpx files which create elevation profiles, but it would be very handy if the profile could be exported directly from this application. regards Josef
Great functionality, great coding, and great compatability with all of my phones. I do wish it would link up with my watch and give a stats screen on foot powered routes. Just an idea Daniel.
4/10/2017: Still love app. Don't know how else to contact you. I have units set to miles, but when I share route, it only shares km. Can I change this? 7/16/2016: I'm using this app on a nexus 7 tablet with Android 6.0.1. I love the app's features and user interface but I'm experiencing the same issue reported on 7/1/16: app lapses into straight line tracking, even if it begins in HD tracking. Is this caused by loss of GPS satellite signals? If so, there is probably nothing Daniel can do to fix it, but it renders the app less useful to me. I love it in every other respect!!! ....................... 9/5/2016 Update: first, Thank you, Daniel Qin. You have provided the best support I've ever experienced from an app developer. I've changed my rating to 5 stars-My Tracks is a great app!!! The problem I was having has disappeared as I returned to the Northeastern United States. I have set location mode = high accuracy, and location time interval = 1 second both foreground and background. I'm carrying my tablet in my back pocket, keeping it locked while there. I suspect I had access to fewer satellites when I was having the problem, causing my tablet to periodically lose its fix.

The main function of the app is good tracking the activity and providing stats. However, there are some problems with saving the data and syncing. Sometimes the track does not save even when connected to WiFi. It does not save the track when there is no network connection. The syncing is always asking me to sync old tracks that should have been synced ages ago, stop asking.
