ime to come clean, we are 2 chefs that spent over a decade working hard and spending endless hours in some of the finer kitchens of Ireland and Great Britain, in our limited down time was endless parties, dining and limited sleep. We lived by a simple philosophy fresh is best, but fat is flavor and it always needed more butter. As the timeline of or career moved on so did our waistline, so we traded the clubs for the gym, beers for caffeine but even with many hours clocked in the gyms, we were still missing something, proper nutrition.
Believe it or not even chefs don’t get time to cook for themselves, at least not always.
We learnt about nutrition, the importance of calorie counting, balanced diets and were shocked to see even with healthy eating a pre-gym breakfast contained as many as 1,000 calories.
The competition to outdo each other in the race to weight-loss had us searching for ways to maintain our new gym-lives and still work in kitchens in Dubai & Abu Dhabi, while reducing our weights. Banter was motivating but not enough, but it was the research into nutritional programs, learning about superfoods and the various techniques that lead to Pura, so after many trails, tastings and some pretty flawed concoctions we developed our very own juice programs, we tested them on our friends, girlfriends and colleagues and the feedback was very encouraging.
So the search was on………
We would never say the other juices on the market are not good or inferior but we felt they were missing a lot of the superfoods in their juice cleanses or detox programs; also the taste wasn’t quite where we would have expected. We have incorporated many of the superfoods, both old and new into our juices, we have perfected the recipes using our 15 years experience in the industry to make some great tasting meals and juices. We don’t believe (and neither does your body) that you should live on juices alone, its great to get that kick start, super charge yourself with the missing nutrient’s your body is craving possibly even drop a few pounds, but also there is the need for solid foods in the diet, so we incorporated soups into our plans to help create that habit
