Great app for the maintenance guys or girls, side by side comparison between motor windings or motor bearings, centrifugal chiller bearings, pumps, etcetera. You can clearly and quickly diagnose or help diagnose premature failures, It's a wonderful tool! The DVD features also help in local community parties where their music was a little too loud especially on a specific holiday but were you able to give an accurate DB level of the music throughout the entire neighborhood to the local authorities.
Designed mainly for science, not engineering. Developer should declare this upfront. Good for laboratory research to find soundprints (amplitude vs freq vs time, e.g. animal calls). Not a good tool for achieving flat frequency response in an audio system. Not designed for sound reinforcement or recording engineering. Auto-calibration depends on speaker quality AND room acoustics, therefore sorely unreliable. If you want accuracy, then calibrate your mic's freq response to a known calibration mic.
And works just fine. Thanks! PS. whiny People with stone age phones with MB sized RAM, Should turn off their other apps before running newer apps to prevent crashes!
Great app! WE've used a lot within our engineering group to help pinpoint machining problems and find usable solutions. Only request in addition would be to have a place to download/view the manual outside of the phone.
Amazing features. The best I've found. Could you please add 2 or 3 decimal places to the time value in the spectrogram time axis zoom and/or cursor for detecting reverberation times? Thanks. Love it :-)
Trying to read mp3 files, the app crashes when I back up a level from the internal storage. My audio files are all on ext sd card.
The best I've seen for the smartphone! Surely, everything depends on how good your mics are, but if you wanna go professional - of course this would be insufficient. As for this one - more than enough to research sounds on the smartphone.
Downloaded this app to track down a high pitched sound in our TV studio. I was able to find the culprit which turned out to be a bad LED light power supply.
I always wanted a decent app for spectrograph of bird calls and other audio. Most previous apps were buggy or has limited capacities. This works great.
I use smarrt7 for big shows and I use this for small shows...and it's free!! FFTs have minamal lag, haven't even looked if you can calibrate a mic but I'll check ...big fan
Thank you for a very good app. However I do have a wish list: Would it be possible to export the FFT values (not the .wav file) to a .CSV file? Only the values at a given time e.g. at the cursor location would be ok. Moreover, if it would be possible to load 2-3 .WAV files and visualise them at the same time on the .FFT window in order to compare (again at a given time), it would be marvelous.
Used it for analysis of audible interference. Worked well to show frequency content of signals. Crashes sometimes but really easy to use and helpful. Thanks
Very useful, a tool and a learners device in a device that needs something to use it for, other than talk on, to justify price of things with multi core CPUs in our pockets and hands. Just started trying this, love it already
Especially for a free app. Has been a great tool to setup my church soundboard & an app I frequently turn to. Two thumbs wa-ay up!
I was looking for a sound analyzer with these exact options, and am very pleased I found it. I wish the they made a desktop version; I could really use that, too!
This app would have been perfect of we were to customize the frequency range of interest
Should be able to store longer portion for self analysis .. should be able to show difference from base note and variation
Can you add more features such as statistic, average decible, etc?
Simply best app that easy to use / set up.. and it's free. for non commercial this is best app.
Please add playing audio melodic notes
Used it to adjust the tension of the spokes on my bikes.
I'm using it for quick vacuum tube amplifier performance checks. I tried about 5 others then found Sound Analyser. Try it, you'll like it.
I clicked cause it said sound anal... misleading.
...wav and mp3 analysis option to skip mic issues altogether.
I tried many spectrum analyzer apps, this is the best I have seen so far. On a top of that it gives a comprehensive set of features for free!
Very neat and clean software. And above of all it's free. May be one day I also do something like it for world.
Tried a couple different ones out and I like this one the best. Good response, great layout, and very easy to use. Love it
Works Great... I have a 11.2 home theater system used it to balance all my channels. Used a good reference mic to calibrate the system.
This is the most perfect spectrum analyzer from all I've seen. It's absolutely brilliant, thanks for giving it for free
Great App! Does more than I expected. Plenty of fencing to play around with if you like. The adverts are discrete.
especially with the mic cal, set up the whole room immediately :)
I don't know what most of this means, but I can tell a lot of work has been put into this
Very good app for spectrum analysis exposure.
For my need it's very good, small and work.
Full 20kHz range with spectrum and spectrogram.
Very nice to use, friendly user interface, have most of the require features and functions. Keep it up!
Yo yo freak I am a musician I make so many karaoke
Most helpful tool yet escpessiaclly for audio visual techs
Still getting used to it. Cannot believe that these features are available on my phone. I'm amazed how responsive real time analysis is.

This program does not allow you to input the minimum and maximum frequencies you wish it to display, and when I finally managed to get it to just about within the 0 to 150 hz or so range by resizing and panning, it crashes! Augh! And, once I get it to display a low frequency, it will only display a finite amount of time, instead of panning along with new input like it does before I start adjusting the displayed frequency scale. So close to what I need that to fall short like this is rather frustrating!
