Modes

In Compass Rose Mode the 16 point Compass Rose moves like a gimballed compass and its direction and the numeric bearing display are compensated for horizontal pitch and roll.

Start Viewfinder Mode by pitching up your phone to the vertical and see the bearing compensated for vertical pitch and roll superimposed on your camera viewfinder

Options and Buttons

A Test button qualifies the phone by getting basic statistics to assess the suitability of the phone as a compass.

Input your magnetic declination and the compass adds a True North button. If you don't know your declination you can input or paste your coordinates for a calculation.

If your device has a Gyroscope you can set the optional Gyro Assist option to improve smoothness when moving.

There is also a Full Calibration option which optimises offsets and scales for the phone's magnetometer.
