The Lincolnite for Android
YOU CAN TAKE THE LOCAL NEWS WITH YOU WHEREVER YOU GO!
Crap...
Was a good app but now the writing is in grey and very hard to read, so bad i don't bother with it. The news story writing has a dark grey in the main news story on the Nexus 6P
Suddenly having problems with the app over last 48 hours. Click to open article and get either white screen or error message. Any ideas?
It is great for keeping me up to date with Lincolnshire news home and away!
Downloaded it so that I could use it for news updates when I do my shows on our local radio station. Earlier version needed questionable access rights, but this latest update has fixed that. Now a genuinely useful app for both general and radio use.
Update: yes, the loony tune has gone and I believe the option to switch off push notifications is new as well? Great stuff. I think the people who download this app will be local people so will not really need any prompts to read the local news. First review: Quite liked the app but where in the name of Fred did that loony fanfare notification tune come from?! Couldn't find a way of changing/deleting it so uninstalled the app. Anyone got any ideas?
Other similar apps don't require this permission, BBC news, etc., yet they find a way to background sync etc. Can you explain why it's required please? Lots of other users seem to share this opinion and your prior replies aren't really adequate.
Although I have read the permission is required for the sharing capability, I do not want to grant that capability. Why am I then prevented from using the app. A real shame as I liked the Google newstand version. Time to go back to the BBC.
The app requires no more permissions than other similar apps. Get beyond the paranoia and it's well laid out and easy to use app.
I agree with others, why does this app require access to my phone book? As I have not allowed access I can't even open the app.
i denyed the app access to make calls on my phone and after that the app refused to work.
The app should only ask for this permission when it is needed, not on run. The notification tone is also a bit obnoxious and uses the wrong volume control (media instead of notifications)
Need access to personal information to use the app...do one!

Does what I expected, a tad late to the app party but better late than never :-)
