A friend of mine says...

It reminds me of 1974 staying home from school, laying on the couch with a fever while my mom is sewing something and a soap opera is playing on the TV in the other room. Except that I've been time-machined back 20 years so it's actually 1954. It just needs some occasional swelling string section background music signaling the end/beginning of a scene and maybe random, muffled sewing machine noises. Also, maybe it could make me a bowl of campbell's chicken noodle soup. Maybe it's for evoking nostalgia for a bygone era. Not just nostalgia though--nostalgia mixed with angst/ennui. Is there a word for that? Nostalgui? Angstalgia?
