WD TV Live Media Player

Had on my phone for about 3 min hag have to pay to use the dnla server option to stream 3.99 really. I live wd and support time amazing logic and technology. A real leader in my opinion. Asking way to much and can't even test before payment.. no thank you

Sorry found a way better app. That is a file manager can network, and no ads. Wont be using this again. (big time on lag and I have 75/mbs everywhere in house) if your familiar with actual Internet speeds. This app should not have any lag. The file maker app I found has none and is 100x faster!

I was looking for an application that streams over DNLA from my local DVD server so I can watch my recorded programs. I bought this and really did waste my money. For connecting to servers and playing content I found it useless. Not very happy and it will effect what I buy in future

This Player works great with my system. I have over 50 GB of music and some videos on an SSD attached to my Netgear WNDR3800 Router. This player lets me access all of it using my cell phone. I have access to anything I want to hear and I don't need to turn on my TV to listen. Obviously, I do turn on the TV to play videos. I haven't been able to figure out how to make 'favorites' yet so that's a drawback. It would be a five star rating if I were able to play my playlists. Maybe an update will fix that.

I used it a lot to control the YouTube and watch it on TV, but since Android lolypop update I'm not able to connect it anymore. So presumably it needs to be updated to work with 5.02 android also.

I was hoping that this would be a decent remote control and more for my wdtv. It wasn't. Too slow. Not intuitive and uninstalled after an hour.

The remote buttons are too limited with only play, stop, rew, fwd, pause. It shows "please make your selection" and pass of 3 devices, but no way of selecting anything!

And not free. Full of ads too. I don't click on ads so take them off. Either make it free or don't.

Using any other player besides directly to my phone and I'm not able to fast forward at all.. it will just exit whatever I'm watching.. please fix!

Unfortunately, it won't connect to my wdtvlivehub. It says I'm signed in, but I can't see anything on our about my drive. Samsung galaxy 10.1 2014 Ed.

My latest problem is that the Shoutcast API apparently wasn't properly tested in this latest release. It appears that they get the primary and secondary genre entries back out of the JSON response, but then don't pay attention to the sub-genre which are the actual streams that you would then load into the player. Its very hit and miss, and makes the application unusable for Shoutcast anymore. I've resorted to using YouTube streams for my backyard music, but am down right disappointed and dismayed at the loss. On top of that, I've tried to report the problem, and get a response that there is no problem. I've asked for a direct phone call to discuss, and all I got were crickets. I'm afraid I have to downgrade this to a 1.

I paid for the 'in-app' feature and I receive an error when trying to access my home servers. I sent this information to support and they asked me to send the log. This was months ago and I have not heard back from them even though I asked for a status multiple times. Sounds like a way to just get customers to pay for a product that does not work knowing that their support will be of no help.

I have been using this to send YouTube videos to the player. It works like a charm.

Beams movies straight from my S5 to my WD Play via wifi no problem.

Brilliant idea for an app.not useful on my setup, I can't wait 30 seconds per slide on Flickr, for 10000 pics, that takes too loooong ...

I thought I would be able to control my local media with this. It keeps telling me that feature is an in-app purchase but I couldn't find anyway to make the purchase from the app. Additionally, as another commenter mentioned, I have received a lot more spam in my email this week.

Paid for the app. It worked once then hasn't worked again. What a waste of time and money. No support from developer.

phone mirroring ability would be a great feature to have in the app

Wanted it to mirror my phone but it doesn't. Would be acceptable if it could run apps but very limited in this respect. Don't bother paying for local media, take my advice. I've been all over this app and my overall report is that this app needs a lot of work.

Cant use it for a remote unless you have internet.
