Count Your Blessings for Android
This app is great - challenges the way we think about lent and others around the world. Functionality was a bit poor though - it kept switching to the last page everyone I opened the app meaning I had to keep scrolling back to where I was.
I'd rather do something useful than merely give up things for lent. This app is an excellent way to do just that. Through it I can give, if desired; pray, or take action to help others - facilitated through the ongoing work of Christian Aid. It is a very simple tool, doesn't take up a lot of time and yet has the potential to help others whilst making me more appreciative of the many blessings in my lifelife. Highly recommend it to all like minded people!
I loved the Christian Aid app for Lent. It was a wonderful way of reflecting on issues of poverty around the world. A helpful way of taking my focus off of my comfortable life. I loved hearing about real people and how Christian Aid are supporting them in their situations.
I really liked using this last year, and having seen the leaflet for this year's CA Lent Appeal, decided to use it again. It seems that it has not been changed to match this year's leaflet and because I have used it before it opens on the last, send your donation page. Scrolling back through all the days is quite difficult, so I am going back to the paper version! I have just been to the CA website and found that they have not dona an app for this year as it is too expensive, so that explains the problem. It should probably be removed from the play store!
Useful app for keeping track of your promises during Lent. It allows updates through the day and has good interaction with the website. However it does not give a breakdown of how the total was arrived at.
A good way to learn about world issues during lent. Manageable tasks to complete. Wasn't so keen on the text layout on my phone - strange to be scrolling at the bottom of the screen when the total amount each day was small.
I liked this year's emphasis on the lives and rights of women.
This is my second year of Count Your Blessings. It has been really good. My friends have really enjoyed the posts on Facebook.. Has really helped focus my mind on prayerful thought over lent.
Good idea for those who prefer more positive action during Lent.
Inspiring pictures and text. Really like the daily reminder to help my Lent reflections.
Wonderful to travel through Lent
Great way to support and learn about the work of Christian Aid. A lot of interesting facts.
Made a great change from how I normally go though Lent. I will definitely use this again next year.
Fails to function on Tegra tablet - tried to open first day but swipes function whilst tap fails to. Swipes just return to same message - tapping "give" tab no response at all. Tried fresh install still no joy.
Brilliant app - has really made me appreciate things in my life & I'm easily able to support Christian Aid through this in prayer & financial giving.
I really like this app. It is so easy and convenient to use. Also the fact that you can tot up your donations as you go along s really helpful. The reminders each day are thought provoking and interesting.
Really useful and thought-provoking. Works perfectly on my HTC.
This app has proved to be a really helpful way of reflecting on our own blessings every day, as well as raising awareness and reminding me of so many global issues. Its simplicity is great.
Gotta give these guys credit this year...so far so good. Liking the alerts and the scrolling to view the text is easier plus the font is bigger... Hope it finds it's way onto a few more phones this year!
What a fantastic way to work through Lent!!. It works beautifully on my Samsung Galaxy tablet and was really easy to install. I like the reminders, the personal totalling and the global response total features. I would appreciate an option of some wording for the prayer days. It is ,for me, a discipline that is do-able, has the emphasis on appreciation of God's goodness and gives me the opportunity to do something practical. I wonder why I was not aware of it last year?
A daily prayer or reason to donate that is focused on Aid given to improve the lives of poor Africans.
Good reminder that there is truly a global village in need of our prayers and aid. Works great on my Samsung Galaxy
It is good to learn about the struggles others face, the work that is being done and to gain inspiration for prayer.
A good app. Plenty to think & pray about on the road to Easter.
I've really enjoyed having this app. It's great to refer to it at any time and as a lay preacher I have built it into services as a way of showing different ways of thinking and involving younger people into a Christian life
Great way to engage with God during Lent
Have found it more convenient than the paper version. I can't forget it this way! And no hiccups with the app so far.
I bought a tablet purely to use this app on the advice of my cousin, Ivar. Money well spent on good advice as usual. I really like using this!
It helps u to help other children
Really good, a focus for prayer as well as giving
Thought provoking. Useful to have tally of donations.
A great way to give more during Lent instead of giving things up.
A little daily reminder of our blessings.
Easy to use. Quick but thought provoking and if you miss a day you can scroll back.
Hope they do an advent calendar at Christmas
A very useful way to have something to reflect upon each day; to appreciate what I have and to be aware of others needs.
Linking automatically to the correct day is a help, but I would like to have the date too. Byddai'n braf cael yr ap yn Gymraeg.
Thought provoking and very well presented and planned.
Great lent app
