Drummer friend plays the drums as a real drummer using different samples at different velocity and even different samples at the same velocity, simulating left and right hand.

To modify an existing rhythm select it from main app and touch the edit checkbox,
then the rhythm editor will be started and show four tracks of events view with some controls in the upper part of screen.
Every quarter note is divided by 24 ticks, at 12th ticks we have an 1/8 note, at 6Th ticks a 1/16 note, at 3 ticks 1/32 note, at 2 1/32 triplet, at 1 tick 1/64 triplet.
You simply touch a + symbols or an existing sound and the app show you a dialog for add, modify or clear an event.
On the selection list in the main screen the user sequences are written in blue bold style.
User sequences are stored in /drummerfriend/usersequences.xml that is a xml format file.
You can share your sequences with another user (that must have drummer friend ver 1.2 or above) sending this file as attachment with Gmail.
When the user receive and views this attachment from Gmail using drummer friend, sequences will be imported.

Footswitch support thru USB.
Need a device with USB HID support (keyboard/joystick); to check this you can connect an USB keyboard or a joystick with an USB OTG adapter cable and try to trigger events. If it works then also a generic HID USB footswitch should work.

Great app. Nice sounds. Would like the ability to export audio. Also the counter display is out of sync with the beat when using higher buffer settings, which is confusing.

Try the free version first and you will see the benefits of this app, such as changing tempo while playing and from sticks to brush. Chose the HD version as it's still cheap for a drum machine in your pocket! Glad I did, because the Vintage drum set sounds like real drums, not a computer. I know nothing about drum playing and just want something to play in the background with my guitar. This app does just that and can be moved to SD card. There is no need to save different rhythms as there are already heaps to choose from and you can adjust them as you play anyway. Tried a few others first, but this one is by far the best if you are not a drummer.

I wanted a drum machine with tons of built in beat patterns, a handful of drum kits, a ton of high quality samples, and endless customizability. I am a guitarist, and I wanted to be able to plug my phone in and have all the above handy so I could play along. This app beats (lol) everything on the play store, free or paid, for what I wanted. If you want drums to groove along to while you play whatever you play, you can't do better than this app.

I am a guitarist and I was looking for some decent bossa nova beats for practicing the classics. The bossa rhythms included in this app are better than some I've seen in MIDI/acid loops costing a lot more money. I'm really glad I found this app before I plunked down 100+ bucks on a drum machine! I have the regular version of Drummer Friend as well, but the drums definitely sound better on the HD version. Muito obrigado, zaoloapps! :)

I wanted to love this app and hopefully it's something I'm doing wrong, but it ALWAYS makes the most God awful noise if I try to add any effects. I can turn it on with earplugs and can't hardly hear them. To be honest, it kills me because it could be amazing, but it distorts and distorts or u can't hear them. I've ran it from my phone to a preamp to a mixer to a Drive Rack to high quality studio monitors(powered), same result. Please tell me I'm doing something wrong.
