MyEskom for Android
It's been a week and still works well. No complaints.
Kak'!!!
App shows no load shedding while there is, it is not working. Pity since the UI is great
Previous version worked - updated, now does not work anymore - sad
Need to link the load shedding schedule to the user interface otherwise user wastes an incredible amount of time looking up suburbs on the Web redirect!
Grid watch works better..as it allows yout to save or bookmark certain groups or areas and also give you notifications
When I advise my Eskom account number & my location is identified on your map I expect this information to be saved on the app so that I do not have to repeat it or switch on my location. I want my schedules & status for my home address 24/7. I would also like to see that a stage has or will be implemented.
It is fine but it would be nice if I can set my area without using GPS and the setting of alerts will be awesome.
GPS places me in an area that I am not in as I'm right on the border of two different zones. I want to enter my area manually. And allow my location to save. I want to save multiple zones. Where is settings for alarms/alerts? Simple, obvious things your amateur developers should have thought of.
Thanks for updating the app and now one can see really load shedding schedule of my area and my surrounding. I can plan according now as I can see areas with load shedding.
I'm trying to simply view the loadshedding schedule, such a mission. Have a look at the News24 app Gridwatch simple and straightforward.
It's ok what can we say any be prepared for it and play it cool and safe
Looking forward to seeing notifications and loadshedding forecasts.
Just another way to make more money with an eskom app! I'll 5 star this when you people stop your shit!
I love this app it's awesome
Why am I surprised. Never has the right times. All it does is tell me what I already know...We're loadshedding...big surprise. Eskom can't do it right. Why would their app.
Poor interface. Not easy to use.
I guess it works.
Newly downloaded & first attempt to open is unsuccessful! The app will just not open...Really ESKOM, when the one star ratings are more than your five-star ratings, you have a problem. Pity I did not note that before I wasted data!!!
Still testing this.3 stars cos i think the idea os good.
Why bother having an app if is doesn't even have infomartion that is usefull like when there will be loadshedding in my area with alerts? If I wanted to go to the website every time I wouldn't have installed the app...
Useless app ..
Loadshedding schedule doesn't use your account information but needs a search wrapper of yhe website which does not work. The only thing that may be working is the national gridload... but only after you reload the app. There is a big problem accessing Eskom data and this app suffers for it.

Very buggy, tried selecting a suburb and it got stuck. However, the usage meter is nice. THREE STARS!!!
Think better at load shedding and fixing ur mistakes and u will get a five star rating from this
This app is practically useless.
Ok app
The app doesn't notify me about load shedding. Could possibly be because nothing happens when I select the "My Profile" option?! Either way, my phone has a web browser, so I don't see the need for this app. The load shedding schedules redirect you to the website anyway!
Good start. I'd really like to be alerted via the app though as the load shedding status changes (I see the app has an alert setting so I'm hoping this is what it will do). Also for Android it would be really nice to have a homepage widget that just displays the load shedding level at a glance ie. None, 1, 2 , etc and the colour could also change according to status.
Loadshedding schedule option only takes you out of the app and into your browser to the eskom website, which is outdated anyway. The alerts doesn't work either. All the provided info can easily be found in a browser. Waste of space and time. Typical example of how pathetic eskom is. It does have potential though.
I would make a widget for this app so that you can have the stability gauge on your home screen showing a person how high electricity usage is
This app I recommend no one downloads. The most important feature the loading shedding scheduled is found on their website; which the app opens the browser for.
Many areas (rural) were NOT carried over from the eskom Website. I have contacted developer about exclusions. Had feedback but nothing improved as yet. Has huge potential. A widget giving the shed status would be great. But as the actual status is not reflected accurately on the eskom Website I see a problem for the developer there.
This app is absolutely useless. You need to change it as it only needs to do one thing. Give push notifications the moment you decide to switch to stage 2 or 3 or back to 1 If it can also let the user save his location and then send push notifications to that user about upcoming loadshedding in his area, that would be awesome. Without that it is as useless as sand in the sahara
A program with external links is not a app. Its performance is equal to when you don't have electricity
Firstly this is a front page leading to a web browser link. Secondly. The notes at the bottom is tips when you get cold. WAKE UP - Its summer in South Africa!
It could do a little more without redirecting you to their website, but it does give valuable info and it is a must have. I would recommend it ..
How about getting an embedded version of the load shedding. Only usefull feature is national power status. WHY IS THE APP SO BIG. It's got poor response. Don't know if it die or what. I'm on a10mb line.
