Glimpse

I have never owned nor do I know how to fly a drone (but can fly a 4 rotor rc copter) I just bought my glimpse blade ar drone. This app was easy to setup and gave very stable playback on my galaxy s5. You first have to make sure everything is turned on and synchronized correctly then go to your devices wifi settings again MAKE SURE!!!! Your settings are so they accept all devices( this is where I had trouble). Then search for your drone. Once you have found it then enter the app. NOT BEFORE.

I've tried this app on two different phones. On the Nexus 6p, it tries to open a connection on a port reserved by Google; leading to an endless reconnect loop. On the Nexus 5, the app will connect and work, but crashes if the wifi signal drops at all. The app has to be force stopped and restarted before it will connect again. It's a great concept, with a decent mini quad, but video streaming should never be this finicky.

I bought two of these Blades for Christmas for my son, one BNF, one RTF. If you have half a brain you can figure this thing out pretty quick. Problems people are experiencing with the app are mostly user error. App could use improvement but for what it is, it does its job well. I gave this app 5 stars to help try to offset the idiot factor. I want Horizon to be encouraged to continue development on these apps instead of scrapping it due to bad, uneducated reviews. Not sure if I'm missing something or if getting interference but there's a significant ammount of delay. The app otherwise is actually quite nice and would like to see some more improvement. I still have to give this thing a try where there's not a million Wi-Fi signals which I think may be most of my problem

Excellent app. Have used it to fly my UAV over local archaeological site, saving video footage onto the camera sd card. Once home, processed the video to extract stills and then run these through photogrammetry software to generate 3d models of the terrain. Absolutely awesome!

I can't find if it goes into vr mode.... Should make it able too... Thanks other then that good little quad

Wont open keeps saying network error

Never picks up the WiFi. Works 100% on the iPhone though so 5 stars on that store as a balance.

I bought this a week ago and flew it once in my house and didn't like it at all.... UNTIL I flew it outside. Flying this outside is a joy! There are others that complain about the wifi delay and jumpiness. However, any wifi device is going to have a delay. As for the comments on it being choppy it simply is not true. Okay, if you are in a windy situation or are simply a bad pilot then yes it is choppy. However, if you take your time and make small inputs ( as all should when getting to know a new rc ) it is actually quite smooth. Now that I understand how to operate it I love flying it in the house. As long as you realize it is NOT an FPV quad then I believe you will be very happy.

I love this, havent had any issues, only fraction of a second reaction time! I don't know why people are complaining about this app, I love it, it rate it 10/10.

$180 for a drone that links to no Android device in the house Samsung galaxy phone,Samsung galaxy tab and Samsung note tab

Need a playback option, and the ability to save would be a huge boost to this app. Woorks on my galaxy tablet, but not my phone cause my phone dont support it. I hope they add those two features!

When I fly the drone it doesn't get the view right away, it's 1 second off and can cause my drone to fall and break. Plz fix.

Works great live streaming on s6 active no lag at all ...you guys need newer phones

I spent £300 on a horizon glimpse XL drone which is.... AMAZING. the app works amazingly too. Some shutters sounds would be nice tho

Get the update from horizon hobbys uk site and just follow the instructions simple! Enjoy.

Does not connect to my samsung s4 as uk phones do not cover5.8 bandwidth

Only feature it has is a single button to record with. Tried it on 2 android phones and neither saved the video anywhere on my phone or sdcard.

This app is a joke, I bought the glimpse only to find out that my Android 4.0.4 devise cannot get the app to connect. All the app tells me is "NetWork Error" so now I am stuck with an RC helicopter instead of the so called "drone" that I paid 175.00 dollars for.

I love BLADE, I have MA NY of their products... but this app and the quad are junk... you can not use it to fpv, the quality is very subpar and choppy... DO NOT BUY THIS QUAD!!!!!

Decent app, about what I expected for a WiFi based system. A little low on the frame rate and if you lose WiFi the app crashes, but I expect it'll get better with time.

This app always crashes on me. I just got the glimpse today, and for some reason, it works better on iOS than android, because of the constant app crashing that my iPad doesn't have, but my Samsung does. Fix this

Works great! I would like some sound tho. Like a shutter sound when pushing the camera button, and maybe a beep sound when pushing record.
