Foliage Leaf Peepr for Android
App is a nice idea but it immediately started excessively draining my battery, uninstalled.
I needed an app that lets me take a picture of a plant, flower, or tree and then tells me more information about it. This is not that app. Additionally, when I attempted to use Leaf Peeper to take a picture, it crashed the camera on my Nexus 5. I had to reboot the phone to get my camera functioning again.
Great info and timely!
Foliage tracker. Clunky operation. Unable to extract foliage reports. When you enter state, state map does not appear but an area map of 3 to 5 states.
Eventually it would refuse to run saying there was no network even when there was. Rebooting phone did not work. Uninstalled.
With crowd sourced photos it gives a better idea of the foliage condition than any other report. Haven't encountered any bugs so far. Wish there are more using this to report with photos. It's great for trip planning.
No way to exit app on s4. Foliage updates need better review before changing state of area. This could be a great app just needs a little more work.
This app has so man bugs its impossible to use. Love the idea just needs work.
All it takes is some misguided users to accidentally hit "Peak" and it becomes a red spot on the map? ...even if it's September... in Texas? When I posted Green I got a message of 7 other reports of Peak in the area. Really? Believe me, we're not done with summer... if leaves are brown it's from heat. There are a number of Peak areas showing in the South before any coolness has hit. Questioning accuracy of the map.
I really like the concept behind this app, but it needs some work: 1. Settings does nothing 2. Uploaded picture quality poor; should allow picture to be tapped to see higher res image 3. I added a comment, but have no idea where it appears; never saw the comment again Gave it three stars for concept and effort, but should really only get two for execution.
The app updates itself based on very few "reports," so if someone accidentally hits the wrong thing the map will be wrong. Like my county shows 'gone' when it is only turning. This is the worst app I've ever used.
I agree that reports are not accurate. We are just turning, but 45 people report peak. My yard and neighborhood is green with hints of color. Also, I could not get out of the app. Needs some tweaks. Really do want this to be a great working app. Fall is my favorite season!
I couldn't get it to work at all on my Samsung galaxy 2. Great idea, but only if it recognizes the Android 4g internet.
Uninstalling now...
...needs some polishing.
Move to sd card option needed
Doesn't recognize any Android button input, touch screen input is erratic, trying to zoom into locations triggers strange behavior. Nexus S
app could use interface w/ menu and back buttons on my Evo. Easy to zoom map in; haven't found way to zoom back out.
This could be a really great app, but the lack of ability to maneuver through the screens and the overall display map makes this app not great.
I love Yankee magazine and I think this app will get LOTS of use soon. works nicely
FAIL. FAIL. FAIL. Back button does nothing. Can't see pics, can only submit. Can't zoom. Too many shortcomings to list.
GOT BACK FROM TRIP TO NH, ME, AND MA. APP WORKED AS ADVERTISED. PERFECT! THANKS.
Can't wait to drive around NH and report on what I see :) Bring on Autumn in New England!!
Keep getting an error indicating I'm not connected to the internet. Despite having excellent cell service, I'm also connected to my home WiFi, so this error is bogus. On top of that, the back button doesn't work, so I can't back out of the app. I have to hit my home button and force close in settings. HTC Incredible 2
Just continues to tell me I have no internet connection on my HTC one even though I'm connected to my WiFi and have 4g.
I think this app is a great idea and I would use it however it has some things to fix. Map shows mixed dates for seas and stages....no colors showing on map...etc. if this app gets updated to be more user friendly with less errors I would def use!
