YouTalk AAC for Android
I really like this. I'm a caregiver for someone who is nonverbal and I will use this. One question... Could you make it possible to save the app on an online account? I got a new phone and had to put all the pictures in again which took awhile. It would have been nice if I could have logged in and it all would already be saved in the account.
Brilliant
Keeps crashing
I like this app, but a few probs. I have an HTC One. When I want to take a picture using camera, when I confirm - it ALWAYS says that " AAC has stopped", and dumps me back into the main window. Also noticed that some photos from the Photo Gallery are stretched beyond recognition. What is the best resolution to use?
This app has given my son a voice for the first time in 21 years. It was easy to use on his new HUDL. My pictures were distorted as others have mentioned, but I used the picture editing programme built into the tablet to crop the top and bottom from each picture until it looked OK in the grid. I'd be happy to pay for a few more grids, but for a free app it cannot be faulted.
Soon as I tried to set up a block, I entered the words, took the pic, and hit confirm, it crashed. I tried 2 times with same result. My son has CAS, and if this had worked it would have been great for him. Disappointed is not even good enough...
Just what I needed for on the fly choiceboards
Strengths of this app are the: ability to use photographs of real world of each user in the tiles as well as provison of large number of graphics to insert, ability to select number of tiles used per screen according to fine motor control of user, positive reinforcement of language used from text to talk when photo touched, ability to use IVONA HQ speech to text app to choose best language accent. ability to slow down rate of speech to suit individual needs. BUT on my 4.0.3 system Motorala Xoom I find that the pages do not always load pictures at full size so you finish up with 1 mm square where photos ought to be, pictures are stretched to fit rectangle so distortion occurs, the page selector button is too small for those with little fine motor control and it would be fantastic if pages could be swiped across. When these glitches are rectified it will suit every one including those with no fine motor control. For all others it is already a fantastic powerful tool that can be made relevant to individual needs. Congratulations to the developers for such a simple, user friendly and positively reinforcing app.
I like the simplicity and ease of use but have not been able to put the images I want in because they are in my Google drive and I can't get them into my gallery. If that problem could be solved my rating would go up to 5 stars. Right now I can't use it.
I wish that the screen adjusted to a relative size of how many pictures you have on the grid. Also, on the 10.1 screen the yes is split on the yes/no grid.
I will be great for my son. I just wished it had an option to add more grids. Other than that I have no issues.
Love it for my non verbal son, this is going to open his world after 16 years
Overall app is a basic non complicated tool that helps maintain communication. Very user friendly.
This app works great and runs fantastic. Quick and easy to set up, its perfect for someone with a speech impediment. However, it is very simple and works best for children or people with few needs. The app does not scale well beyond a few phrases.
Really easy to use AAC app. With all the you tube video tutorials this app is of the best in the market.
Very easy to read and use. The best AAC app out!

The Yes/No works just fine, but I've had a substantial problem with the app crashing when trying to set up a grid. It's a simple three step process, type in text, select/take a picture to associate with it, and confirm. Unfortunately it crashes every single time I try to associated a picture from the library. Not being able to set up the grid, it's not useful. I'm using a Dell Venue 7-3740 tablet with Android 4.4.4 as my test device.
