Speecher - Public Speaking for Android
There are 3 major methods that can be used to reduce anxiety before giving a speech:
- Relaxation and positive visualization
- Evaluating and changing thoughts that make public speaking more stressful
- Practicing public speaking skills and preparing content
Speecher is designed to help you with the third method, practicing public speaking skills and techniques.
Do you worry that you will lose your place or forget parts of your speech in front of your peers? Speecher’s built-in organization (Speech >> Notecard >> Note) will help you organize ideas into outlines. Practicing using the outline will improve your memory of your key content.
Are you worried about the amount of filler words like “uh”, “um” and “ah” that you are using while in front of your classmates? In Speecher, you can record your speech audio. While it may be awkward to listen to yourself speak at first, it is a good way to increase your awareness of how often you use fillers. Additionally, you can listen to your recordings to evaluate your volume, tone and pace.
Do you speak too fast when you are nervous or anxious? Do your speeches run over time because you try to fit too much in? Speecher displays a speech timer and a progress bar as you practice or deliver so that you can time your speech appropriately.
Preparation will go a long way to making your next speech a less scary experience. Speecher is a great tool to practice and will have you speaking confidently.
