About Bronze Constellation

Forked from the open source Sky Map application, this application puts the viewer's location far below the surface of the Earth (8/10ths of the diameter of the Earth) looking out on the constellation created by the components of a contemporary rendition of an ancient method of scupture - cast bronze. The constellation formed by these bronze components overlay the celestial constellations, placing them in proper company for which to compare them as parts of a whole.

In conjunction with Yoidles! Productions each point in sky marks the geographical location of a bronze crayon placed into the world as a part of Broooks Wenzel's "Lost Wax" project (www.yoidles.com/home/lost-wax/). The movement, the implication of movement, and the human interaction with these objects makes up part of the overall sculpture, thus activating the spaces between each portion of the sculpture.

The significant portions of the code modification was completed by Ray Phoenix and also by Nathan Berger of Ohio University's Aesthetic Technology lab. The generosity of these two individuals entirely made this project possible.
